maybe we give up 38 as well? The thought is that they really value Michkov as the #2 or 3 prospect.
Not just any #2 or #3 prospect, there are absolutely scouts out there that believe Michkov is generational and the ONLY reason he's not going #1 is because of fellow generational Bedard. Sort of a Malkin situation where he's only #2 because of Ovechkin being #1. If they truly believe that and the rest of their staff does as well, they'd easily dangle multiple 1st rounders to get him!

Look, it’s every scouting report ever written about Zach Benson. Who knew that they were all plagiarized?View attachment 718120
If anyone else is curious, he ended up being draft #15 that year so Mr. "For the life of me I just can't see more than 10 teams passing on him." was wrong. Also it's interesting there's not a single mention of his wrister which he is now famous for and ended up going down as having one of, if not the, wickedest wrister of all time!

Still stuck in Forum 40
If we trade down, I would still like to get at least 1 of Smith, Benson, Leonard, Dvorsky. They might not be there after the 8th pick.

8th, 40th, Chesley
For
6th, 72nd (Washington's3rd), 2024 Washington's 2nd

Would like the 40th to be included

Still wondering if we can move a goalie and a 2nd to get back in the 1st round?

That’s not a good trade for Arizona. Take out the ‘24 2nd and it’s something to think about.

Two undersized guys in the first round?? What do you guys think of this mock?

We legit might get the two steals of the draft if this were to happen.

Benson - Cooley - Keller
Guenther - Hayton - Perreault
Macelli - Geekie - Crouse
TBD - Mcbain - TBD

I think we honestly could be set at forward with that core. I'd look at the 24' and 25' draft for an elite #1 D-man. Have a big back end / big Centers and then smaller wingers. I know Armstrong values high hockey sense, and can look past size, especially at wing. However, I am not totally sold on Perrault though, as he comes across as a lazy player at times.

The first think that stands out is that Keller and Perreault and Crouse are all LWs.

I'm hoping for either Smith or Leonard @ 6 & Danielson or Wood at 12th.
Our 2 1st rounders being RH forwards.
I’ve got a hunch that they are praying for Leonard at 6th and Willander at 12th. Unfortunately for BA & Co. I suspect MTL wants Leonard and VAN wants Willander. So I think we’ll end up with Reinbacher at 6th and one of Danielson, Barlow, Honzek, Wood or Moore at 12th.

RE: Danielson, he’s older for his draft year and has already played three WHL seasons. So he’s AHL eligible after next season, correct? Brandon should be much improved next season. And Nate should make TC U20 WJC. He could have a nice season and then be ready for Tucson.

RE: Reinbacher, he’s probably ready for Tucson next season.

I could see BA & Co. being happy about the prospect of having both kids in the state after next season.

Why would we take Reinbacher before Smith, Benson, Dvorsky or Michkov? Reinbacher must be unbelievable and I'm just missing out like I did on Soderstrom.
I don’t think Smith will drop past 4th.

Why would we take Reinbacher over Michkov? Because Reinbacher is very projectable, very safe, and is at a position of need. He fits our profile. Michkov isn’t those things. He’s pretty far from what I’d expect this group to be looking for. He’s got a lot of red flags and this organization has too many already. I feel like the Coyotes are a uniquely poor fit for him. Us and maybe Columbus are likely the worst fits in the top ten for Michkov.

Why would we take him over Benson? Because Benson is 5’10 170 and a LW. Reinbacher is 6’2 and a RD.

Dvorsky? Maybe they think they’re dead-even. Complete draw. Tie goes to the positional need. So Reinbacher.

As for me, I have Reinbacher 12th and I like all of those guys more. So I’d be a little miffed. But these are good scouts. They know what they’re doing. And they seem to like Reinbacher. I’d make peace with the selection pretty quick. Initially I’d be bummed.

When @Grimes came over to watch the draft I said to him that Soderstrom was the one guy I didn’t want. I wanted Krebs or Boldy. I think Grimes was all aboard the Boldy train.

When he came over for the draft a couple years prior I said the one guy I didn’t want was Perlini. Lol.

I trust our guys, a lot actually. It just seems so underwhelming in such a forward heavy draft and we have the 6th pick. Oh well.

And with an amazing draft for blueliners coming up next year.

He will if SJS go with Michkov and Montreal takes Leonard. One of Leonard, Smith or Michkov will be there for us. I get the hesitancy of taking Michkov, but the reward.
You have to admit taking a D at #6 in a forward heavy draft and the year before a D heavy draft would be just about the most Coyotes thing ever.

We took Hayton in the D draft and Soderstrom in the F draft. But that was Chayka.

So is Olive Moore the next Sjostrom or Boedker?
Many consider him a top 10-15 caliber pick in an extremely good to great looking draft. But yeah, the concern is whether the pure offensive upside is there to match the wheels. The production lagging behind the top NTDP line is partially to blame for the concerns.

But consider Cutter Gauthier. He was stuck playing behind the Cooley line last year. He had the same issue. When Cooley was gone at the WJC, Gauthier took off. Similar to what happened to Moore when Eiserman was called up to his line. And now look at Gauthier. He’s looking every bit the part of the top five pick he was last draft.
