I think the Ducks may have overthought it.

I do think Fantilli is the superior dynamic offensive guy, but they already have his 3/4 version in Zegras, Carlsson can be more of their Kopitar--it's less sexy but could be more effective/efficient.

But I still think they overthought it and I would have taken Fantilli. I can just see the thought process....and I hate picking to 'fill slots' rather than BPA.

(not to say they DIDN"T have him BPA, just thinking thru it)

I love the pick for them. Carlsson is likely to be the more influential player.

The analysts are more Jon Hoven than Mel Kiper Jr, that's for sure. I get it they don't want to say anything negative about the players, but some of these video clips are going to age really poorly when some of these guys inevitably bust.

I don't think it's to much to mention that Fantilli had question marks about his hockey sense or that Carlsson may not have the ceiling you want from a #2 pick.
