WC: 2023 Czech Team

There is only 1 good goalie left in the playoffs IMO... elite wise. Oetinger.

I think it's wide open and all 8 teams could win the Cup this year. I don't see an 'Avs' type team. Oil certainy are a tonne of fun and can score a lot. The defending though is bad and the goalie (who I like) is a rookie being asked to pull a Ward, Murray or Binnington. We shall see!

Bouch is my fav Oiler believe it or not.

Yeah but I thought Jiricek Is healthy again, based on that interview with jim Yesterday or two days ago.

That sucks the D Is terrible.

I must say I am really not looking forward to this WCH. We have probably the weakest team since 2010, And also an absolutely boring team, with very few interesting players to watch.

I mean of course I am going to watch And be rooting for us and will be hoping for the best result. But I just dont feel it this year. I dont expect much.
 
Smejkal from Chlapik... future Ottawa AHLer from former Ottawa AHLer.lol

I still think Chlapik works his way back to NHL. He had a solid 200 foot game. Smejkal should be able to etch out a bottom 6 role in NHL. Big fan.

I think we'll be just fine but you nailed it with the 'boring' part. This is not going to be a fun team to watch.
 
Smejkal again with a great look! We have so many good bottom 6 guys... about 12 of them!

I'm curious where he lands.. I'm a big fan of his. I hope he makes the NHL next season too (where he's definitely bottom 6).

Top 6 for this tourney? Cervenka, Chytil, Spacek, Smejkal, Chlapik and Sedlak????

Same, he's easy player to root for. Ottawa fans think he could be decent 4th line player for them next season.

You are missing Kubalík.

I have to say.... I looked up vozlenik... 27... Good size and absolutely awful stats. Didn't really play for U20. Was on czech2 a few years ago. Very weak stats.

Yet.. he keeps standing out ... He must be a real late bloomer.
 
Vozelnik draws a penalty! The early goal pull worked out.

Good pressure... curious if we can tie it up.
 
Haas skated around Kempny without even deking.lol Luckily no goal against. Kempny used to be a burner.
 
Swiss won the Czech Games! Good for them.

I know Czechs lost 2 out of 3 but they were all 1 goal games. Chlapik looked very good in final minutes.

Press conference coming up in 2 hours. Here is my best guess. I'm hoping I hear that Jakub Galvas has made the team in a Hail Mary but I seriously doubt that is happening.lol I put Kaut in but my gut says he got cut.

Sobotka will probably be in the lineup, since he didn't play today... unfortunately
Tomášek is clearly better than Horák and Kaut. Hopefully the coach will see it too.

Would suck if Jiříček is injured and can't go, both for him and for the team.

Today's game was not very good, most of the players had bad legs, the skating was somewhat lackluster. But pre-tournament games are specific, often don't mean much in terms of energy. Tough decision for the coaches whom to scratch.

My guesses were based on what I think they will do. Not what I want.
