Dare I say that Cristall would be a pretty great compliment to Leonard. Different skill sets and player types. Also good to spread out the positional depth with a power forward RW and a playmaking LW. I like it

In a draft filled with superstars, it’s not unlikely for some of the talents to get overlooked by the public eye. One of these somewhat overlooked names in the star-studded 2023 NHL Draft is Andrew Cristall, who has had yet another great season for the Kelowna Rockets. In 54 games, he scored 39 goals and made 56 assists for a grand total of 95 points. Forth most of the draft-eligible players in the WHL. Even better were his points per game which was second in the WHL among draft-eligible players. The only one better was none other than Connor Bedard.

Bader's tools are neat but also he gets it wrong a lot. He admits it, sometimes, but I get a little anoyed now by Bader and Patrick Bacon. It's a good tool to have but NHLe models can make you look dumb. Here he is on Stutzle, who is the only star from the 2020 draft.

Every scouting mechanism, whether it's analytical or observational, is going to fail, and fail pretty frequently.

It's why using one type and ignoring all others is incredibly misguided.

Glad we picked Leonard over Benson. Benson is highly skilled, competitive, etc but the fact is he is a small, small player. And how many little guys make it in the league? Martin St Louis, can't think of any others off the top of my head. Benson just carried too much risk.

Wasn't even thinking that. Those 16, 17, and 18 drafts live in my nightmares. 18 was the only one where we got some potential NHLers after spending 3 years drafting the same player seemingly over and over again.
