I’d prefer not to see him at all but he hurts the team a lot less at forward. Let’s hope they stick to this.

So MacDermid is going to be a full time forward this year according to Bednar.

It's the right choice but that also means we only have 6 NHL Dmen? Pretty good chance for Hunt or Malinski to earn that 7D spot.
Are there any decent Dmen projected to be on waivers in a few weeks? If Malinski doesn't claim a spot at camp perhaps the Avs go that route instead for the 7D spot

Oh wow. First guy ever to have a defensive zone turnover in NHL history. Not only they have to get rid of Drouin now, but send him to Siberia
And then he'll have to become a Russian hooker.

And then, we know what's going to happen then during the playoffs, and it's going to be a whole mess.

Drouin is gonna become a Russian hooker, MacK is gonna become his pimp, they both gonna leave the team during playoffs, Avs not gonna recover from it, blow the team up and start a rebuild.

Oh, they also steal Nuke’s passport so he won’t be able to play in the NHL anymore, he signs a contract in KHL

Been that since he got here and allowed Jordan Greenway to headshot Kuemper right in front of him without bothering to even give Greenway a stern talking to.
Was less of an issue when we originally got him since there weren't any cap issues and Mack/Kadri/Bura/etc were on good value deals. Now that every $ matters he's a real problem.

So based on that list, right defensemen who may fit out need based purely on position and size:
- Alec Regula (BOS); 6'4" 208Ibs
- Dylan Coghlan (CAR); 6'2" 208Ibs
- Marcus Bjork (CBJ); 6'3" 203Ibs
- Philip Kemp (EDM) 6'3" 202Ibs
- Cal Foote (NJ) 6'5" 224Ibs

I haven't watched any of these players really so I have no idea if they are any good. Regula played for the Blackhawks before. Coghlan played for Vegas, and Foote may have a famous father or something. Kemp is a 7th rounder who has been in the AHL. Bjork is a former SHL player who got 33 games with that terrible Blue Jackets team (he has no connection to CMac or Bednar).
