What do you mean rarely works out? Contenders trade contracts for cap space all the time, it always works.
What doesn't work is teams with a handful of stars getting big money and no depth.

Depth and capspace can always be acquired with draft picks or off-season signings or trades. Star players can't.

Exactly. In the rare circumstances that a star player becomes available, the team normally has to pay over the odds (Tavares to Toronto) or be located in a desirable location (Panarin to New York) or randomly has a perfect salary cap situation in the flat cap era to accommodate the player (Gaudreau to Columbus).

Very true, but that top 9 for the playoffs would be wicked. We already know that our move at the deadline is goalie though.
A goalie? I don't see the Avs making any move in that department, even if Franky doesn't come back.

It's hard to lose faith in either Justus or Ivan if neither of them get a game to suck in.

I meant that draft picks can be traded for low-caphit depth players. Like Hagel or Coleman were for example.
If Landeskog can't return next season Reinhardt would be a pretty good like-for-like replacement in UFA if the Avs want to go that way.

Can someone please tell me how to permanently get rid of the pop-up attached in the image below which appears incessantly when browsing Hfboards on my mobile. It won't go away no matter how many times I click "accept" or refresh the browser, and it's making this site completely unusable to the point that I will simply have to stop posting here. Thanks in advance for any advice, much appreciated.

What browser are you using? Have you tried a different one yet?
I'm mostly on here via a pc, but I've used Edge on my iphone as well and don't recall having a problem with it.

I use Chrome and have the same issue in other browsers too. I don't have the issue on pc, only mobile.

I’m having an issue where all the icons at the top of my reply box are grayed out and when I click on them nothing happens? Like the picture icon or the link icon? This has been over the past few weeks I think.
