2023-24 Senators Prospect Watch

I think Stanley is a sleeper prospect. He has all the makings of a modern RHD, big, mobile and smart. Limited offence, but I do think he has the possibility of being a good bottom pairing RHD.
I went to dev camp. And he was absolutely alpha dog there. He demanded the puck. Everyone gave him the puck. He looked exceptional.

I don’t know what people see with Yakemchuk. He doesn’t impose himself on any area of the game. He’s constantly getting swiveled around it doesn’t even look like he really know where to be defensively. And offensively he’s got a big shot. One on one defending he’s constantly like…lunging for the puck missing and then his skating is so bad his recovery is non existent.

Also he seems tog eat surprised but opposing forechecks.

He has serious gliding issues and then someone is on him and he has to scramble.

Yakemchuk just had probably the worst shift you’ll ever see from a d man. Theyre on a powerplay he tries to go solo through the neutral zone loses it causes a semi 2 on 1 against.

Then he commits without noticing there’s a Lethbridge forward RIGHT IN tHE SLOT.

Like horrible man. Horrible

Yakemchuk seems allergic to getting pucks into corners.

I also hate his body language. So skimpy and lethargic

He make Logan Brown look like JT miller

Who is the Lethbridge goalie? Just a kid but man… can’t save a puck
He has been mostly good in the playoffs. Bad game here though.

Calgary wins in OT. They scored 4 unanswered to complete the comeback.

Despite a goal and assist, Yakemchuk was just okay. The 3 games in 4 nights had him a little lackluster at times and his skating broke down -falling and getting beat outside on a play.

Thought he was just brutal tonight.

He was pretty bad. He had a herculean effort in the last game. Did you watch it? It was a totally different player. His balance issues and awkwardness come out when he is tired or has played a heavy schedule. It was his worst game in the playoffs.

Wasn’t his conditioning an issue at the combine?

Hopefully that’s something that gets corrected over time.
