talbot solid b2b. still think they need to upgrade in goalie at the deadline.
Yea they probably will but hes played well. It almost doesnt matter if he lets in 3 a game as long as he makes the saves when they need him. Hes been good at keeping momentum and flow from Kings just collapsing.
Petersen and Quick the last couple years would just give up backbreaking goals at the worst time and sometimes in droves of 2 or 3 within minutes.

Its not PLD v Vilardi.. its 8.5mil vs 4mil in cap usage which left hole in goal and 3LD... now if Blake moves RV (or LTIR for the year).. and they get a goalie, then that makes sense and you have the right balance... still they are at the cap as it stands since they filled in teh empty roster.

Englund is solid enough.

Don't make me slap you.

PLD plays a different position than Vilardi.

Kings needed a center.

And the Kings added Gavrikov and Englund on the left side. A huge upgrade over Durzi and Edler.

Guys I understand all those points. Im saying regardless of the positions filled there is an overspend at forward vs other parts of the team. If you can fix that, than the trade is just fine. Edit: though i hate to lose a home grown guy with that much skill

I think 8.5M is a solid deal for a 25 year old center.

As long as he keeps up 60+ points per year, I think it will become a relatively cheap contract in a few years as the cap goes up.

He needs to learn to win a face off though.

Vilardi? Nice guy but I don't miss him.
