Interesting words chosen by TM regarding Dubois: Calm, Powerful and Strong. There's definitely no panic in his game.

I really hope we see a Laferriere goal soon. He had a couple really good chances last night.

After 3 games Trevor Moore went from bad contract to best contract in the league
I think people overreact on that matter.

Moore was already pointless or close to, in the 8-10 games BEFORE he signed that contract. I still remember that because it stood out to me.

Than he got concussed the year after and yes he did not play that well but pointwise it was not even that worse compared with the year before.

He missed 23 games.

lets see he had 48 pts in 81 games in 21-22, and 29 points in 59 games last season which nets out to about 40 points in a 82 games... so about 15-20% falloff. I hope it was the injury last season and not some theme that he disappears for long stretches.

Moore has a good contract. When healthy, he is a great contributor and has shown excellent chemistry with Danault and Arvy. If Kaliyev can keep this level of play up, losing Arvy won't be that big of a deal. That would free up some necessary cap space.

THIS TEAM!!!!!!

Y'all watch that sh*t last night??? Let's goooooooooooo

Laferriere looks unbelievable - only a matter of time before the points start to come. Kid is so impressive and that really applies to all facets of his game.

Also.... Is Trevor Moore the best player in the NHL?? I think he might be.

Also goaltending problems WHO?!?!?! Talbot is a WALL lol

Ugly first 20-30 minutes, but very nicer thereafter. Hopefully they found something....and it's not just a Winni letdown after the GV injury, etc.

Build on this one and continue it forward.

Talbot 1M
Lewis .775M
Englund 1M

Blake's trifecta of ∼1M signings looked like pretty good value in this game. We'll see it how it goes as the season continues.
Maybe Blake ought to start a thrift store chain.. he seems good at painting himself into a corner then dumpster diving

Had a night to sleep on it

Kings were dominant 2nd two periods, importance of timely goaltending on full display because the 1st was completely embarrassing. Talbot kept them in it until they got their legs under them and we Kingsed them.

Laf needs a goal. He keeps playing with confidence. Kid is legit.

I like that it's not getting in his head.

There was a Fiala to PLD to Laf play in the 2nd I think where he narrowly missed the one timer wide...i thought that was it

Get the feeling that he's going to pop one and never look back on his way to 20.

His 3 full years, it's 37g, 100pts, in 196 GP. That's 15g and 42pts per 82. His $4.2m hit for that average is the going rate.

He's a role player. Not even a scoring role player like Kempe. Moore isn't good enough to not disappear for chunks of games. The vast majority of players aren't good enough to not do so.

All you're hoping for are the chunks where some guys disappear, are filled in by other guys reappearing, before they disappear again, and the other other guys reappear again. That's what prevents 5, 6, 7+ game losing streaks.

Then your top guys are the rug that ties the room together. Then there's the McDavid and MacKinnon types, who are just superior to even elite players. A different kind of talented. You're at their mercy, and are only beating them when your top guys and role players are all on the same page at the same time.

In previous seasons I felt Kaliyev was gripping his stick too hard. Like every time he had a scoring opportunity he would try a little too hard and botch it.

This year he seems to have more confidence. Seems more relaxed. And also quicker.

He's playing with Danault and Moore, who have both been excellent, and who are both perfect complimentary players.

I think this is the year he finally breaks out.

Does Vegas take o/u bets on individual players goal totals? At 20, I would take the over on Kaliyev.

Only thing is, we dont have top guys like McDavid and MacKinnon.. we dont have anyone in the top 50. Avs have Mac, Rant, Makar top 10 scorers in the league. We spend our top guy money on Kopi and DD.

So you pray that your elite shutdown guys minimize the damage they do while your elite depth runs over the avs depth.

You’re smarter than this.
Thank you. Yes, I'm smarter than using bad evidence to justify a trade. Would we also say "well, this is why we traded Vilardi" if he got injured in a car accident, too? If he was hit in the face with a puck shot from Arthur Kaliyev?

Citing unavoidable injuries to say that it's evidence of an injury-prone player, proving "why he was traded" is absurd.

Brother I'm peaking - But also it was a good game and my post was intentionally over the top.

OBVIOUSLY Moore isn't the best player in the NHL but he looks amazing so far this year and had a great game.

OBVIOUSLY Talbot is not a wall and goaltending concerns are still real but he had a great game.

Regarding Laferriere though - I completely stand by what I said, that kid is incredible.

That strategy didnt work too well in game 1.. prayer about only hope

No it didn't work i agree

I'm just saying you can't just 'be better' than McDavid

You have to use your best system and personnel to minimize his damage and loosen up your other personnel to outplay the others. If lines 2-4 can win, and 1-1 can stalemate or narrowly lose, you likely win

This Kings team isn't built to run over McDavid and Mackinnon, it's built for Danault, PLD, or Kopitar to run over RNH/McLeod, Johansen/Colton.

I got you. My lament is that we dont have that kind of talent and that its tied up w DD and Kopi.. I agree with your assessment - we can still win even without that talent.. just wont be as exciting.
