It was pretty clear Vilardi is a winger. Kings played him for two seasons at center. Nothing worked until he moved to wing. It's not just about speed.

The Kings had options at center. They could cross their fingers on Byfield. Maybe it would have worked, maybe it wouldn't have. But they were able to keep him while getting in established center in PLD who's about the same age as Vilardi.

Clear? They barely played center. Who gives a shit? They’re both originally centers who can afford to learn the ropes while the Kings can acquire a goalie. Do you realize how bad your “logic” is. What good is PLD if the Kings are bleeding goals? Wtf
