Would definitely like to see some line shuffling. I don't understand why it hasn't really been done much? What's to lose at this point. Who knows, maybe some chemistry develops with some of these guys we're trying to force it upon.

Cronin tried that and it went terribly.

not expecting miracles, but when you can't score any goals... gotta do more to try then throwing the same guys out there with the same results.

It’s pretty rare that a CHL-eligible player gets sent to the WJC, then returns to his NHL team. I cannot recall it happening, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it has.
That is true. I don’t know if I remember that happening either.

To me, he doesn’t look out of place at the NHL level. It’s one thing to play in the WJC against some of the best junior players, but to go to the CHL is a huge step down from the NHL.

I’m not seeing the benefit to him going back, other than the contract from the teams perspective.

Can we try Perreault on Leo’s right wing?

Too soon. Perreault just started turning his game around in the AHL. We should let him continue develop his game, especially now that the Gulls have started to win. I want a longer burn to Perreault's recent success to know it's not his usual scoring streak.

Well if Drysdale comes back soon, then there really isn’t much room for him. It would also be nice to not burn a year of his deal so it doesn’t line up with Zegras/Drysdale/Carlsson/Mintyukov/Zellweger.

Luneau is not in ducks roster anymore per official website. Is it possible to not to count a player agains the roster just during JWC if he is not eligable to be sent to minor?

With the constant injuries we’ve been dealing with I’m sure we would use him but I can understand the desire to have his contract slide.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but Bob Murray regularly burnt a year off the ELC and I think it was strategic. It gets them to that next contract faster so you can sign them before they break out. No issue with it, except it would line up with everyone else needing a new contract in 3 years.

IRVINE, Calif. – The Ducks were back at practice on Saturday morning after returning home in the graveyard hours of Friday morning from their two-game road trip.

Joining the usual suspects on the ice were two players who have been out of the lineup for an extended period of time. Jamie Drysdale and Trevor Zegras took part in a full practice together for the first time since Oct. 15.….

I think sliding Luneau's contract makes even more sense when you realize how many good young D we are trying to view and evaluate. It's pretty obvious this is another season where winning takes a back seat to development and analysis. I'm sure they will work in a look at Z2 sometime this year as well.

If LaCombe and Minty did not exist I'm pretty sure Luneau would not go back to the Q.

Maybe PV is actually smarter than most of HF?

If LaCombe and Minty didn't exist, then I don't think Luneau would be up with the NHL club. It's the fact that a multitude of our where making their way to the NHL club this season at both the AHL and NHL levels.

First time pros: NHL
C Carlsson
LD Minty
LD/RD LaCombe
RD Luneau*

*Not AHL eligible

First time pros: AHL
LD Zell
LD Hinds
C Gaucher
LW Nesterenko
LW/RW Pastujov

I don't think there's enough of a rookie contingent to want keep Luneau in the NHL level to want to keep him. The org knew after two NHL games that Luneau wasn't ready for the NHL. And if LaCombe wasn't here, then Luneau would have usurped his 9-NHL game a long time ago. Conflate not playing well in his first two games and forcing him into seven more NHL games while not looking good, then Luneau would have been sent back to juniors. I actually don't think Luneau would would have made it onto the roster without a huge contingent of first time pros this season.

If they can get Z,Drysdale, and Mac by Wednesday or Friday, it will be something to look forward to. Which for this team other than Leo, there has not been much going on as of late, and even he had a bad game last night, imo.

Between the injuries and Terry struggling, here they are once again in the bottom. Just when you think they couldn’t outperform their struggles after getting shut out by the Blackhawks, well they lowered the bar even more. Starting to question Cronin now.

Zegras-McTavish-Vatrano (Z is a playmaker that can score and likes the puck on his stick, Mac is a scorer that can create and doesn't need the puck on his stick, Vatrano shoots)
Killorn-Carlsson-Strome (Killorn and Carlsson seem like they have some chemistry, Killorn is coming around)
Jones-Rico-Terry (Jones is the wrecking ball and creates chaos, Rico-Terry have chemistry)
Could also swap Vatrano and Strome

OR

Zegras-McTavish-Vatrano
Rico-Strome-Terry
Killorn-Carlsson-Silf

Depends on who you want in... unfortunately, we do have 1 weak link in the top 9 either way. These should spread out the offense, though.
