Looking ahead into Jan...

Killorn - Leo - Terry
Z - Mac - Vatrano
Henrique - Lundy* - Strome
Jones/Johnston - Carrick/Groulx - Silf/Leason

*Lundy is expected to return in Jan

Question is who will be waived.
Grouxl probably won’t be around at that time. Rest looks good

Ducks have had some tough guys over the years (Grimson, Parros, Dez) but I think Gudas tops them all. He was especially noticeable last night, and I can recall an entire shift where he was throwing his body around, being a menace, and helping to create scoring chances with his physicality. Love the guy's heart and motor. Great add by Verbeek.

Gudas is the tough bone of this team..

Asked on GDT but this may be more appropriate given Leo time management

Am I crazy or is the back to back on the road Tues/Wed a little nuts? Nashville and Colorado are what 11-1200miles apart? Is that a normal back to back w travel distance? Isn’t it usually at most an hr or something by plane between places?
It's not as bad as it seems when you consider they'll be gaining an hour through time zones as well as an additional hour between start times.

Cronin didn't appear concerned about the schedule and mentioned having to play Vegas the first night and arriving at 3am and having to play Carolina the next day was a tougher ask early in the season:

Pettersen - EK being on this list, as well as the relative paucity of top pairings, makes it far more about matchups and forwards they’re paired with than their actual defensive acumen.
Makes sense, although being on that list anywhere is not a negative.

With Z now on IR and a back-to-back upcoming, our centers for tonight or tomorrow might be McTavish, Henrique, Groulx, Carrick. That's assuming Leo sits one of the games.

Might be a rough one.

Well he played in the Gulls Golf Tournament yesterday, so I'm guessing he can stay the full 2 weeks and just can't play the 6th game.
Sorry it's 14 days.

The loophole allows any NHL player that’s a healthy scratch for five consecutive games to be sent to the AHL on a onetime conditioning stint for a maximum of five games or 14 days

After 15 games into the season, we still have three players scoring at a ppg rate or higher!

  • This year's trio:
    • Mac: 15 games; 7g + 9a = 16 pts (1.07 ppg) ;+3 rating;
      PP = 1g + 3a
    • Frank: 15 games; 11g + 5a = 16 pts (1.07 ppg) ; +6 rating;
      PP = 4g +1a
    • Strome: 14 games; 2g + 12a = 14 pts (1.00 ppg); +6 rating;
      PP = 0g + 2a

  • Last year's trio:
    • Mac: 80 games; 17g + 26a = 43 pts (0.54 ppg) ; -19 rating;
      PP = 7g + 7a
    • Frank: 81 games; 22g + 19a = 41 pts (0.51 ppg) ; -29 rating;
      PP = 5g +4a
    • Strome: 82 games; 15g + 26a = 41 pts (0.50 ppg); -30 rating;
      PP = 1g + 3a

All three put in a lot of work during the summer, especially Mac b/c he's everywhere on the ice! Still needs beefing up in the legs so he can stay standing on the ice, but still a huge development jump for him. Vatrano and Strome's offense are much better this year to off-set some defensive lapses. It's weird with Vatrano b/c he's competent on the PK, but sometimes gets lost playing D at ES. I'll take this version of Vatrano all day, every day!

We should call this trio team Adidas, which is short for All day I dream about scoring!

Strome is 1.00 PPG. Those 3 look great under Cronin, I’m glad Strome bounced back.

After a game like that, it might be a good time to try changing up some lines. It was already clear Leason is far superior to McGinn and tonight only solidified that. Even with the goal, Groulx and Johnston deserve to be in over Jones. And I think Strome back at center when Zegras returns. I firmly believe the Ducks will let Silf finish his contract here. But... that spot needs a clear upgrade regardless the center.

Vatrano-Carlsson-Terry
Zegras-McTavish-Killorn
Henrique-Strome-Silf
Johnston/Groulx-Carrick-Leason

Some people might have their expectations a bit too high. We’ve gotten good goaltending so far but are overall still a bad team. Massively better than last year though obviously
They may still be a bad team but they are so much more entertaining then last season. I can count on 2 hands the numbers of games I watched haha I've watched every single ge this season so far. Outside of last night, I love the no quit attitude Cronin is preaching

Agreed. I’m very optimistic about our future. I think we will be sellers this TdL for the last time for a very long time

We are having the year, we were all expecting to have last year... Ups and downs.. I think the weakest links on this team are Silverberg and Fowler.. Silv especially looks completely worn down.. That third line does not provide anything offensively... Fowler is getting 1d minutes.. Idealy he is not a 1d now.. ( never was) He is more a 3-4 maybe step in as a 2.. Lacombe has hit a rut... Largley because hes getting the tough matchups and Fowler offers him no support...(pointing and shit)
