They took an absolute blowtorch to every move Chuck made that they seemingly didn’t agree with. I think it’s pretty safe to say if they didn’t like Deslauries &/or his deal he would have been gone this past summer too.
Nobody is doubting that Torts loves the move. But Danny and Torts have not been in complete agreement (ex. Frost).

I’m also not even saying Danny hates Deslauriers the player, but I highly doubt he’d be giving him a 3 year deal if he had full say.

Flyers PP last ten games, 21st in GF/60, 11 in xGF/60.

The major change, putting Zamula in, Drysdale has only played 3 games. So they may continue to improve. Would help if they had a top finisher.

With their top PK, even a middle of the road PP would make them a credible PO team.

I’m pretty convinced we underrate playmaking to a strong degree as a hockey.

It could be anyone from 2020 to 2024. That’s an aggregate of the last few years. I don’t know and I am not going to look.

A Streetcar Named Marge reference.

There’s some Llewelyn St. Claire in Torts.

“I must warn you, I am not an easy director to work for. While directing ‘Hats Off to Hanukkah,’ I reduced more than one cast member to tears. Did I expect too much from fourth graders? The review, ‘Play Enjoyed by All,’ speaks for itself.”

Protas just got 5x$3.4M from the Caps, yes, he's only 22, but he's a Laughton type bottom six with limited offensive upside. Big boi (6'6 225), but doesn't PK.

Does suggest Laughton with 3x3 left should be marketable this summer (TDL tougher b/c GMs are wary of picking up multi-year commitments for older players).

It doesn't matter what his market is, they aren't trading him. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

There's a spectrum to IQ, the same way with speed, puck handling, etc.

You can have average IQ and compensate with skill, but one trick is pairing the right players, TK is great with Couts b/c he has someone to cover for his mistakes (though the last couple years he hasn't needed as much protection).

Highest IQ on the Flyers to me are Couts, Cates and Foerster. All three are complementary players in that they lack elite offensive skills, but can make offensive linemates better. None are good skaters, Foerster has the best shot and physicality in the corners, Couts the best instincts, Cates the best stick in a crowd. Farabee is up there with them, but not as good in the D-zone. Frost and Brink are above average. TK and Tippett, well, speed and high motor covers a multitude of sins.

Ideally:
Farabee - Couts - TK
Cates - Frost - Tippett
Foerster - ??? - Brink
Laughton poehling Atkinson is a scary 4th line for a playoff run . Can the mayor jump to 3c

Banner game for Briere and Torts sending out only 10 NHL-level forwards in the second half of a back to back.

Haha, Deslauriers was out shot attempted 10 to nothing in his 5 minutes. Can we put him on fake IR like Toronto has done with their useless old goon?
