I don't disagree. But I will say that sometimes a trade offer is so bad, that it is best to let the player walk for nothing rather then let all the other GM'S know they can get the best of you.

Armstrong playing hardball I see.

I think it’s pretty notable that virtually nothing happened this weekend. It’s not like other teams are making their moves already. I was expecting some trades to happen already. Weird market this year.

Debrusk + Gryz + Forbort + Zboril + Heinen + Ullmark....... 16 million + in cap cleared (Zboril's I didn't count)

Call up Lysell, Merkulov, Bussi, Beecher

Use the draft capital from the trades above to bring in Middleton or Hanifin or both actually. Your defense is easily #1 in the league with Hanifin and Middleton additions, Swayman is a top 5 goalie and you got arguably the best RW in the game in Pasta.

Marchy-Coyle-Lysell

Heinen-Beecher-Brazeau
Lauko

Hanifin-McAvoy
LIndholm-Carlo
Middleton-Wortherspoon
Shatty

Swayman
Bussi
We still do not have a number one center on the team if we make these moves.
16M going out, NH is going to want at least 8.5M a year on a deal / Middleton makes 2.45, so that leaves us 5M left not subtracting Bussi / Lysell....you have included DH on the roster, yet want to trade him?
Any deal we make for Ullmark, has to involve an upgrade at Center IMO.
I totally agree we need to move JDB and MG if we do not want to sign them to a contract.
We have another great goalie in M.Dipietro in Prov. as well, his stats this year are better vs Bussi.

Has Chychrun's name ever not been 'out there' leading in to a trade deadline?

I wonder if the teams interested in Hanifin are also poking around Chychrun. Chychrun is signed for an extra year at a good cap hit so he may be worth the asking price which is probably a little more than Hanifin. I also wonder what that could mean for the Bruins.

29. Boston Bruins: The phrase “hockey deals” has been thrown around with the Bruins. They don’t have much high-end draft capital, but they do have players. So it makes sense that if they’re going to make changes, it will involve their NHL roster or those close to it. The reason you’re hearing Linus Ullmark’s name is the calendar will force Boston to make a decision. They’ve begun discussing an extension with Jeremy Swayman and Brandon Bussi soon requires waivers. Something’s going to have to give.

Like several other teams considering moving a goalie, the Bruins have to decide when is the optimal time to do it. All of a sudden, Fleury and Saros are off the market, and Markstrom’s future is uncertain. So, if someone craves a netminder now, Boston’s in a position to deliver. There are two flaws to this, however. First, the Swayman/Ullmark combo gives the Bruins their best chance to win right now, and second, Ullmark has some control over this. If it involves a team he can say no to, he’s earned the right to block.

They’ve contacted Calgary about Hanifin, but I’m not sure where that stands beyond the Lightning. They’re definitely testing the market on some roster players. It’s hard to predict where this ends up, but there’s possibility of a bigger hockey trade or something as simple as added depth for the postseason.

8. Buffalo Sabres: GM Kevyn Adams has told teams he wouldn’t be afraid of a larger hockey deal — but you’ve got to convince him it makes sense right now. Otherwise, that idea will get moved to the offseason. He’s rebuffed requests to discuss Alex Tuch (my guess is Bruins and Rangers). Like many others, the Sabres are preparing to move their UFAs, working on Erik Johnson for a while and I’ve wondered if Kyle Okposo makes any sense for Manhattan. File this under “stay tuned for larger discussions”.

How did that go in last year's playoffs. To me this team is just not gòod enough with so many re-threads and non producing players plus just not enough talent. We lean a way too much on a few players and they get burnt out.
You are right , depth is always a problem go back too 2018/19 when they had one line. I assume rethreads you mean JVR and Heinen, they have played well enough that maybe some team would not mind adding them maybe even use them to increase the value of a package deal. Hey I don't think any of us as all the answers but I really still like not give up on the season, and I am sure that would be a bad message for the players that have worked their asses off and will be here in the future.

I'd love to see if there is a way to swap Ullmark and DeBrusk for Guentzel and Sean Walker. It would probably have to take the form of two three-way trades and would also require an add from the Bruins.

First trades

Ullmark to contender for a 1st, 4th.

DeBrusk for 2nd, 3rd.

Second Trades

Sean Walker for 2nd, 3rd, 4th

Guentzel for 1st & Lysell

Thoughts?

Marek been listening to @DominicT broadcast ?

One thing to keep in mind as the Boston Bruins explore the goalie market: netminding prospect Brandon Bussi will require waivers next season and they can’t afford to lose him for free. As we talked about on the podcast last week goaltending, which has always been considered an area of strength for the Bruins, is perhaps now being looked at as an area of luxury and a deal could help plug holes in other areas and bring the team closer to winning the Cup.

This doesn’t mean the Bruins will trade Linus Ullmark at the deadline. There’s always the draft and the offseason as well. Getting Jeremy Swayman signed is a major part of all this (Friedman thinks there is a deal there) and I suppose when we consider how this season has gone with teams like Detroit, Montreal, at times Buffalo and, currently, Toronto I suppose carrying three goalies shouldn’t be ruled out. But I think the Bruins would like to avoid that snake pit.

Bussi will be in the lineup only if a goaltender is traded. If you are going to count on Merkolov,Lysell, Brazeau for the playoffs in my opinion you are throwing in the towel, get real they are not ready, and if that is the case forget going after Hanifin.........

good point and if you are still in the hunt use him for the hunt.

Get ready for Carter and tinordi types on deadline . Donny is broke city and cant tank the playoffs either.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, but it seems likely if they don't move anyone significant, they are still not going to get very far. So, why not either A) Make a trade(S) that deals with salary, need, and UFA issues, or B) Do nothing and not give up anything to get shit like Tinordi and Carter. What you are outlining Don is the very thing I hope they don't do as it doesn't address either a deep playoff run or work towards securing the future.

NHL Trade Rumors: Insider names two likely destinations for Bruins' Linus Ullmark, rules out two others

I don't give a f*** about helping Carolina or NJD. NJD likely misses. And a lot will have to happen for you to face Carolina in the ECF. A lot that means it was a win/win. And if one of them goes on a run and you don't? Well, if you made any deal with an eye toward today and an eye toward tomorrow, who cares?

No choice hes gonna add some pepper and salt to this lineup and hope sway or linus become tim Thomas with monty doing a claude and meet the nucks in the finals. Gotta throw a buck at a lottery to win it.

Tinordi isn't coming back. Guy is a ticking time bomb with head injuries.
I said tinordi types shep. El cheapo types.

It is surprising how quiet it has been. Last year it seemed all the big moves happened a week or two before the deadline and players left and right were being scratched for "trade related purposes". Heck it seemed like Chychrun was scratched for a month straight.
