I think this is a little overblown. Nice and all to give and get hugs after a win,
but holly shit if that effects the way Sweeney manages this team on trading one of those two, he shouldn't be managing the team and if it effects the mental make-up of Ullmark or Swayman moving forward, I wouldn't want either of them in my net heading into the playoffs.

With that said. I think they'll be fine, both are professionals who make a great living in a business where trades and transactions happens, its all part of their profession and their more than aware of this.

I agree. And understand its a business first.

You can call them loser points and you have a good reason to say so, but remember, 3on 3 and shootouts do not exist in the playoffs, so that can go both ways..........
How did that go in last year's playoffs. To me this team is just not gòod enough with so many re-threads and non producing players plus just not enough talent. We lean a way too much on a few players and they get burnt out.

Marek been listening to @DominicT broadcast ?

One thing to keep in mind as the Boston Bruins explore the goalie market: netminding prospect Brandon Bussi will require waivers next season and they can’t afford to lose him for free. As we talked about on the podcast last week goaltending, which has always been considered an area of strength for the Bruins, is perhaps now being looked at as an area of luxury and a deal could help plug holes in other areas and bring the team closer to winning the Cup.

This doesn’t mean the Bruins will trade Linus Ullmark at the deadline. There’s always the draft and the offseason as well. Getting Jeremy Swayman signed is a major part of all this (Friedman thinks there is a deal there) and I suppose when we consider how this season has gone with teams like Detroit, Montreal, at times Buffalo and, currently, Toronto I suppose carrying three goalies shouldn’t be ruled out. But I think the Bruins would like to avoid that snake pit.

WTF...........Give up on the season ! You belong with Tukka....
Who said anything about giving up on the season.
The team is losing as is, without any drastic long-term injuries and with possible fatigue about to set in. We don't have a true 1C, 2C and another 2/3D needed.
You're okay with the status quo and/or giving away assets for bandaids?
Short-term vision will kill this club.

29. Boston Bruins: The phrase “hockey deals” has been thrown around with the Bruins. They don’t have much high-end draft capital, but they do have players. So it makes sense that if they’re going to make changes, it will involve their NHL roster or those close to it. The reason you’re hearing Linus Ullmark’s name is the calendar will force Boston to make a decision. They’ve begun discussing an extension with Jeremy Swayman and Brandon Bussi soon requires waivers. Something’s going to have to give.

Like several other teams considering moving a goalie, the Bruins have to decide when is the optimal time to do it. All of a sudden, Fleury and Saros are off the market, and Markstrom’s future is uncertain. So, if someone craves a netminder now, Boston’s in a position to deliver. There are two flaws to this, however. First, the Swayman/Ullmark combo gives the Bruins their best chance to win right now, and second, Ullmark has some control over this. If it involves a team he can say no to, he’s earned the right to block.

They’ve contacted Calgary about Hanifin, but I’m not sure where that stands beyond the Lightning. They’re definitely testing the market on some roster players. It’s hard to predict where this ends up, but there’s possibility of a bigger hockey trade or something as simple as added depth for the postseason.

Maybe I should have said happy weak trade deadline everyone
I was just about to comment actually that there seems to be very little smoke this year

I now firmly believe the very DNA of this Bruins product needs to be smashed, the well-known valuable pieces retained, and a whole other look and feel rebuilt in place of the dead, emotionless, weak-minded bloat

This team is fairly cancerous as currently built

The only thing we really know from the front office is that they don't leak. A lack of smoke is little indication of their plans, but we all knew this would be a lean year heading into it.

Their success has handcuffed them- cant be sellers when they're 2nd in the league in pts, cant be buyers when the cupboard is bare.

Tweak here and there or something out of left field, it all seems possible with this management team.

I don't disagree. But I will say that sometimes a trade offer is so bad, that it is best to let the player walk for nothing rather then let all the other GM'S know they can get the best of you.

Mark my words: The very same people that are expecting Sweeney to fork over prospects and picks to load up for a cup run.....don't understand the cap system/space and will undoubtedly be the same exact people that will complain about quality/depth roll of said player(s) and will be stunned that the playoff results don't match their expectations.

Gee, it's March. And if I hear Jim Montgomery say "We have to play to our identity" one more time, I'll barf.

Here's a clue, Jim.

The Boston Bruins have no identity.

Teams in a tough spot. They can't really be sellers but they may not have the right assets to bring in the pieces they need to put them over the edge.

Debrusk + Gryz + Forbort + Zboril + Heinen + Ullmark....... 16 million + in cap cleared (Zboril's I didn't count)

Call up Lysell, Merkulov, Bussi, Beecher

Use the draft capital from the trades above to bring in Middleton or Hanifin or both actually. Your defense is easily #1 in the league with Hanifin and Middleton additions, Swayman is a top 5 goalie and you got arguably the best RW in the game in Pasta.

Zacha-Merkulov-Pasta
Marchy-Coyle-Lysell
JVR-Geekie-Freddy
Heinen-Beecher-Brazeau
Lauko

Hanifin-McAvoy
LIndholm-Carlo
Middleton-Wortherspoon
Shatty

Swayman
Bussi

Two- Game trial !!! They can make their own future. If they suck and play with no heart or determination, like they did Saturday night. Im cleaning house with the UFA. If they play like a team that wants to play beyond the first round this year. Ill bring in help.

Their playing two of the top teams in the league its a good measuring stick, lets see what they do it.
They in the thick of things in march buy!
