Bergeron certainly WAS an elite player, one of the best of all time at what he did. What he didn't do was get 90 points. And yes, that line with Marchy and Crosby was elite.

And yes, he did have a huge impact on games. When he and Krejci were in their primes, da Broons dominated 5-on-5 play, won one cup and made two finals. They won 2 or 3 President's trophys.

Though It’s worth remembering that, if this is the real deal, it’s not exactly a straight trade. It’s also so Van can get Guentzel. I wouldn’t expect the valuation to be the same as for a straight trade.
