This team has exceeded expectations thus far with minimal offensive talent. I would temper expectations for playoff success and just enjoy the ride, see where it goes. Maybe they make a long run ala Florida or lose in R1. Either way, this team needs to wait it out until 2024 UFA and go hard after the best available center and perhaps a dynamic winger.

I am not moving anymore draft picks.

I don’t think this team is very far away from being a contender. They need some grit up and down the lineup. Potentially a center but I don’t think that’s needed now.

Other than that they are one of the more complete teams in the east at least.

I agree I wouldn’t move any more picks or futures.

Bruins may have had their worst 1st period all season, let up 19 shots in the 1st. Buffalo outplayed them, and they struggled with breakouts out of their zone. McAvoy left the game with an upper body injury on a reverse hit.

It's a hell of a move to be in a playoff spot and do that. But maybe you go Debrusk - Hanafin, and then Calgary reflips him.
If I look at forwards that should be made available to improve the team, DeBrusk, Frederic, and Geekie. Bruins need a scoring winger, speed, and more toughness at forward. The latter two were supposed to bring that, but they don't on a consistent basis.

For real what do you guys do with Debrusk if at game 82 it looks something like 14 goals and 30 assists? Try to offer 2 years low number to let him earn his way back into a better deal? I'd be very hesitant to give him a deal starting with a 5 or a 6 there.
He’s like the opposite of Heinen for me. Heinen is like a chameleon he can adapt to any line he’s put on and play off each others strengths.

Debrusk just never seems to develop chemistry with anyone. I mean he’s going to get his own but his game doesn’t mesh with anyone. He never had chemistry with Krejci, Coyle or the new Zacha/Pasta line.

The only time he’s fit nicely was with Marchand and Bergeron but I mean come on…it’s them. They elevate whoever they play with.

I am very hesitant to commit long term to JD. At this point I would do like 5x2 for him at most and I actually think he might hold more valuable as a trade chip at this point.

Anyone think Boston's in on Ethan Bear? Not saying he's a game changer but wondering since Forbort and possibly now McAvoy. Just a thought. Know about him as a person but not much as a player. A Bear in a Bruins jersey would be great for promos 😂

I'm part of the Gryz and Debrusk should go group... Just my opinion. Can't have 10 mil in cap space to those two... My 2 cents.

I’m leaning towards two paths. Trade those two and Ullmark and use all those picks to get Lindholm and Hanifin

Or just stay the course and add like Nick Seeler and Duhaime for mid round picks/prospects

Gryz has not been Gryz this season. Not sure if it’s just working his way back or if the pending UFA knowing he is done thing is getting to him, but so far he has not been good at what he is good at.
Not sure, but sometimes players stop doing what they do best and instead focus on other things, getting them off their game. If he could smartly transition the puck like he used to it would be a big help to the offense.

You trade Debrusk, he isn't worth anything over 4. Many nights he is not worth that. He has wanted out at different times. Grant him his wish.

I think the rumor floated here was that Gryz was told he wouldn’t be back this season.

Wonder if that in the back of his mind is affecting his play

I am a Grz fan, and my gut says that his problem is injury related sadly. He may recover in time. He strikes me as pretty strong mentally. It could be either or both, mental and physical, but he is definitely not doing things well he normally does well.

Are you a employee of the Bruins ? "Upper body injury ", he took an elbow to the head and was quite groggy.

Probably just that a "rumor", Doubt Bruins said that to him, if they did not the smartest move.

I wish. Just stating what was reported.
Don't take me to serious, I like to joke around a lot mixed in with some sarcasm.

Just curious on what you think Coyle was good at? Spitting on the ice?

I thought Lindholm was good up until that egregious AHL turnover up the boards that ended up in the net.

Coyle Imo was atrocious in the 1st period. Tunnel vision at its finest. On two different occasions he had Marchand wide open on a couple of no brainer passes deep in the Sabres end and both times he hung on to the puck. He also made a pass to Pasta that was not even close to his wheel house, where if it was, it probably would have been in the back of the net.

I bowed out after the first, but he was far from impressive in period one.

McAvoy injury update is pending.

he and the yet unmentioned rest of the team were terrible.

You are living in an alternate universe if you think DeBrusk is only getting $4.71 4 years

He scored 37 goals in 82 games regular season coming in

He’s scores 25 or over 3X and his prorated total those 3 years is 31 goals

He plays both wings well and both special teams
