Your point about toughness is valid. I have the same concerns with this current team. Also, rotate the goalies in the playoffs. Why change what works? Goaltending is the strength of this team.

They still have nobody that will stand up to Tkachuck. He is going to abuse Gryz in the playoffs.
Grzelcyk didn’t play games 1 & 2 in Boston due to shoulder injury - they split

Grzelcyk plays in games 3 & 4 in Florida and Bruins win both by combined score 10-4. Grzelcyk plays regular 5x5 shift. Clifton sits both

Game 5 Grzelcyk plays & Clifton sits for third game in a row. Bruins dominate play lose in overtime - one point out shoot Florida 21-0 from 12 minute mark first to half way thru second - Bruins dominate high danger chances

Game 6 back in Florida where Grzelcyk played both wins and Clifton sat. Monty scratches Grzelcyk & Cold Clifton -3 and a penalty a catastrophic giveaway gets Florida tying goal

Game 7 Bruins dominate second, most of third - Grzelcyk in & Clifton out. Give up tying goal last minute with Grzelcyk not on ice

The 4 games Grzelcyk played they won 2 in regulation lost 2 in overtime and dominated all 4

Clifton third period game 2 and entire game 6 were all time bad and he is quoted he agrees

Somehow Grzelcyk is blamed for last playoffs when it was Cliffy

Same thing with Rask who’s rep is based on that Montreal game 7 loss in 2014 and Chicago game 6 in 2013 when it was Boychuk who screwed the pouch

If a Bruins player throws big hits gets in a few fights he could go on a 5 state killing spree and nothing to see

Would anyone consider Josh Anderson(25% retained) + Wifi for Jake Debrusk?

Anderson desperately needs a change of scenery and he adds some size and snarl to our top 6. Wifi adds that nasty to our backend that we've been lacking since K Miller left.

I know Bruins and Habs dont trade........I feel like I'll get crucified here for proposing this

I, promise no crucifying on my watch. at 25 % retainment I would be interested, but not at the cost of DeBrusk. I think you are right a change of scenery might be a cure for him. I also think in Montreal and Columbus , that he felt that he had to carry the team, in Boston that would not be the case. There I said it, I guess you and I will be sharing the same cross.

This team has exceeded expectations thus far with minimal offensive talent. I would temper expectations for playoff success and just enjoy the ride, see where it goes. Maybe they make a long run ala Florida or lose in R1. Either way, this team needs to wait it out until 2024 UFA and go hard after the best available center and perhaps a dynamic winger.

I am not moving anymore draft picks.

Yea after year all teams go through highs and lows throughout the season. Teams defense may be a strength in the first 20 games and it may be the achilles heel in the next 20. They may be "soft" before the new year and then they are hard nosed by st patricks day.

And yet every year people overreact and want to make stupid moves after short stretches. There's a reason most trades don't happen until closer to the deadline.

Teams don't even know exactly what they have this early.

dude sucks why trade for him and his terrible cap hit.

People seem to want to make the team worse.

Exactly. I personally love the adversity they are facing. It keeps them humble and they work as a team to fix the problem. We missed this last year. They will be better in March and into the playoffs because of these little blips.

For real what do you guys do with Debrusk if at game 82 it looks something like 14 goals and 30 assists? Try to offer 2 years low number to let him earn his way back into a better deal? I'd be very hesitant to give him a deal starting with a 5 or a 6 there.

I don't need to wait until the TDL to know what this team needs.

Very good question, have always liked the player, but at some point a tough decision must be made. Do you keep him this year as a rental, or do you move him for picks or to strengthen this team this year. I have always liked the player but his inconsistent play is wearing thin. I should say this to be honest, I think he has been playing well, and working hard , but at some point you need some point production out of a top six forward.

They basically were swept by a great team that was tougher then Bruins

Anyone watching last season is a fool wasting their time

Fool me once shame on me fool me twice shame on you

Tape the games and if they win watch after Cup parade

Also Sam Bennett is a God

135 points means nothing
135 points for mean nothing if you get bounced in the first round.

Even in your sarcasm you are right about Sam Bennett who would be a perfect Bruin

Yea he has to be a concern for management. When he's using his legs he's effective but he's not a line driver and he needs a top tier center to produce a salary that starts with a 5 or 6. No doubt he'll get it in the off season. The cap is rising and there's a few teams out there who'd be more than happy to let him ride shotgun on their first or second line. You know Edmonton would love to see him with McDavid, hell he'd be a 40 goal man.

Trade him to an Alberta team. He hasn't been as physical since he got concussed by Kadri. I think it's all mental with him, and maybe him being closer to home may be the move he needs.

It's a hell of a move to be in a playoff spot and do that. But maybe you go Debrusk - Hanafin, and then Calgary reflips him.

Remember when a few seasons ago people were suggesting Middleton would be a great bottom pair guy and then people told them he sucked because of a few Xdsa/gsdf x31?

Well. He sure looks good now.

Maybe people are suggesting things because they see the team isn't really that good and far too dependent on the goalies?
I agree 100%. But, love it or hate, regardless what you post on this site, there's someone's sole mission to debate the polar opposite while calling you an idiot while doing so.

Goalies and defense are great ,offense isn't where it needs to be........Bruins lose to Buffalo 3-1 and the narrative turns to "they had an off night" or "here comes the sky is falling group". It's essentially tunnel vision, I never post based on one bad game, its based on what I see over an extended period of time.

Bruins need some jam, toughness on the bottom of the roster and mean SOB on the 3rd pairing. Narrative turns to...... "tough players can't skate, we like them because they're tall" or "Lucic was on the ice when Savard was blindsided and didn't do anything about it".

I'm far from the brightest poster on this board and would never claim to be but I don't need to watch the games until March, trade deadline, to be very comfortable in saying that our two biggest weaknesses on this team are:
1. Scoring, especially in the top 6.
2. Grit/toughness in the bottom six and 3rd pairing.

Any moves need to be made with an eye towards next season in my opinion. Despite the early success this season is a bridge year in my eyes.
Well I think they’re 5-5 in there last ten games so you’re probably right and really other than a couple of them the goaltending was pretty darn good,so your probably right.

3. Faceoffs…might be the biggest part of Bergeron’s game that is missed.

Seems like once a game lately a goal is scored directly off a lost draw.
