Not much to report for last night. All 3 CHL prospects (Filmon , Brown and Squires) didn't have any points in their respective games.

Seamus Casey picked up a secondary assist z was a +3 , with 2 shots on goal. Ethan Edwards was a -1 with 3 shots on goal as well. Michigan beat Ohio State 4-2.

Artem Shlaine scored 2 powerplay goals , had a primary assist , was +1 , had 5 shots & won 13 of 18 faceoffs. Northern Michigan beat Michigan Tech 4 to 1.

Nothing to noteworthy for Cheslock , Leddy or Salminen. Cole Brady is UMASS-Amehrst backup so he doesn't play much. Viktor Hurtig is having a hard time even cracking Michigan States lineup on defense.

He’s tied for 15th most FO wins (278) with a FO% of 58.4%.

He’s also not very good and his signing right run out in June 2024 but I like to be thorough.

Despite being a former fourth-round pick with high expectations, Jaromír Pytlík has struggled to live up to even his modest draft billing. He's only got one point in his last 11 Extraliga contests, an assist, and is stuck at 11 points total through 35 contests. He's always been known as more of an all-around player, but if you can't be a difference-maker in the Extraliga, then you don't have a hope of making the NHL.

Yeah, he’s not good. Oh well.

Cam Squires had 1 primary assist (drop pass on the rush at 5v5) , 1 shot , was a -3 , had 2 hits and won 0 of 5 faceoffs in Cape Brenton's 6 to 3 loss.

Josh Filmon has 2 primary assists (both of them were from shots he put on goal that were blocked and lead to a rebound goal) , he was a +3 with 2 shots & earned 3rd Star of the Game in Swift Current's 4 to 1 win.

I started writing here and then somehow accidentally posted this lol.

I can’t say he’s been healthy all year* but, yeah, he’s definitely been an after thought and healthy scratched a bunch.

*It’s very hard to find out who’s hurt in the NCAA, unless you find something from an reporter who covers the team or article about the player.

he’s not on a very high scoring team and his goal scoring was absolutely gonna regress from last season. But he’s leading his team in points per game, playing more center this year (don’t think it was a full-time move but i’m not certain either way), still putting up a lot of shots, and added some weight and 3 inches since he was drafted.

There’s still a LOT to like about him, though i think it’s unlikely he tops out as more than a complimentary 2nd line winger. Most likely he’s destined for the third line, maybe the second PP unit, which will still be valuable as the Devils let guys like Haula go in order to save money around the core guys.
