What is an intriguing Stanley cup matchup that you could see happening…

This season really has no front runner or two to win the cup. Every team has their warts:

Vegas in a current slump, lost their conn smythe winner
Edmonton goaltending and defence are concerning
Dallas with injuries and are they really winning a cup with a 9.5 mil caphit benn and seguin?
Colorado depth issues have them a wild card team currently
Winnipeg has been great but their playoff history and defence depth would be concerning

Florida taken a step back with a short summer in consecutive years and a few players gone
Carolina suspect goaltending and inconsistent play always a bridesmaid and never a bride in the east
Washington the best team this year in the east but a slow and old ovie and overachieving capitals team, people just waiting for the clock to strike midnight
New Jersey is a young promising team and will eventually get their, but just like Tampa and Colorado before them, it took them years to figure it out, New Jersey has more learning to do
Toronto an underachieving core and pathetic playoff resume, they always have a punchers chance but get knocked out in heart breaking fashion.

So that leads me to Vancouver and NYrangers. Both fighting for their playoff lives, but maybe this JT Miller trade helps both clubs. Vancouver has a good team. If bubble demko is back, EP can play very good with excellent defence and boeser can find his timely goalscoring again, it’s not a shock to think the Canucks could reach the finals. They were up 3-2 on Edmonton. With better injury luck and a lucky bounce like a bieksa stanshion could see them in the cup final.

New York rangers have a good team to, they just won the presidents trophy last year, adding a sheep hearder like Miller into a ranger locker room full of sheep might be what the doctor ordered. Shesterkin has always been world class in the playoffs.

My prediction is a Vancouver vs NYRangers cup final and what a final that would be, a rematch from 1994. Miller vs EP40, demko vs shesty, Hughes vs fox. Whose with me?

I could see Toronto or Winnipeg making the finals, but the obvious choice would be McDavid getting his cup. Rangers would generate some buzz from the east. It seems highly unlikely, but a healthy Minnesota with a couple good deadline additions would be my dark horse pick for a good storyline.

I'll go homer for Tampa vs Edmonton, but I remember hearing that there has never been a game 7 OT in the cup final. That's what I'm hoping for.

Hasn’t there been two? Tony Leswick scored the winner in one of them.
 
In the east, Ottawa is very intriguing I gotta say. Could see them making ECF depending who they play.

Florida will still be tough.

Rangers I can see going deep too just because of sheshterkin alone.

Tampa I can never count out. All depends on Vasy.

New Jersey will be a contender. Their roster is good enough to make a run. I think they'll load up on TDL too

Washington I don't see it.

Carolina doesn't make it past 2nd round. Such a good overall team but Still feel as if they're missing something.

Toronto is my dark horse for SCF. I like their team alot. Much tougher and they have good goaltending. They will look better in playoffs

Everyone else in the east - nadda

I'm having a really hard time trying to think of a worse team than Vancouver that has made the finals.

Oilers vs leafs would be fascinating not only as fan but due to the Canadian media hype and this forum would be hilarious for two weeks. I would hope the mods are paid as that final would not worth it lol

I can see Edmonton but Toronto has basically no chance.....Florida will turn it up a notch and come out of the East setting things up for a rematch.
 
Edmonton vs. Toronto would be unbearable and Vancouver vs. Rangers would be kind of fun but stupid af.

Fortunately the teams cruise controlling and still getting it done are the ones likely to go to the SCF. That's Florida and Dallas.
 
You heard it here first, the NYI will make the last WC spot and will Cinderella their way to the finals but will ultimately lose to the Stars.

For me personally, would love to see an all canadian finals of Edm/Jets vs Leafs.
 
Carolina vs. Dallas.

Two teams that have been good for many years without breaking through. Worst ratings ever probably. No airheads will boo the anthem though.
