I found it interesting to look at minors salaries for Laval players. The gap between AHL vets and ELC guys is pretty huge:

For ELC guys, you also have to add the signing bonus. For example, Norlinder has a 70k salary, but he also gets a 92.5k signing bonus.

You say!! Great game, superb win. Atmosphere was top notch, the physical game got everybody riled up! The amount of chirps, slashes, glove in the face after everyyyy whistle
was out of this world lol.

Boy do Mailloux and Arber make for a nasty pair. X is really rubbing off the right way on Logan and it’s excellent to see. So much physicality in that D core. The Rocket will be a very tough team to beat in playoffs.

Dobes is still such a question mark however. I find his positionning is still wrong too often, and he cheats excessively to beat the pass. His numbers might have gotten better, but many routine shots still looked an adventure lol

What about testing Simoneau with the habs for a few games? He's feisty.

After that loss to Boston, I think they need that and Stephens doesn't seem hungry for the job at all.

He will probably get games at some point in the next few years, but this year Heineman and Farrell have priority over him.

RHP already being there as the little bulldog doesn't help it either as he's currently a poor man RHP.

Stephens has the advantage of being a C.

Question for guy's who watch alot of Rocket's games, , are they playing the same kind of system as the Habs like men to men in the Dzone passive PK etc. , curious cause i remember back in the days the coaching staff from the minors was allways ask to teach the system use with the big team ala Creamer Sherbrooke Lemaire Montreal

I dunno how happy Xhekaj is after having cashed a NHL salary for one season + another 20 games or so.

You are looking at some of the top $ earners on Laval's territory (the veterans). Kinda crazy how high some of these AHL salaries are. Good for them I guess

I would say this isn't bad and they have options until our prospects join later in the season. What do you guys think?

that blueline would be rough as you can't have Trudeau on the top pairing since he struggled badly last time he was used there, Barron so far looks terrible on defense, so I don't think I would put him on the top pairing although maybe he just needs some games under his belt.

Mailloux has been playing much better so I'd go with him and Bisson is solid and having a good year so I guess they will need to be the top pairing for now.

Norlinder Galipeau as the bottom pairing I guess is ok but not ideal.

Someone getting called up to replace Monahan? Who's the most likely candidate? Has Lias Andersson played well enough to be considered

Habs don't play for another week (it's the bye-week), no need to call someone now and Andersson is a winger in the AHL...

What exactly has he done to warrant this new found praise?

The defense is still a sh*t show and despite some flashes here and there our top prospects haven’t really blown people away ( and yes that includes Mailloux who despite his offensive flair still hasn’t made great strides defensively)

And oh yea they are still in danger of missing the playoffs
