STRUBLE

I put in Davidson's first shot on goal and afterwards as he skates by, Milic gives him a tap.

Good Christ is Roy a beast. That hit too.

I think he’s giving PK a run for his money as our best AHL player in the last 20 years or so.

He’s absolutely unreal. Honestly he could end up being our best forward when he hits the show. He just creates endlessly. He just gets better and better.

Just with him and Dach and a better Slaf would do wonders up front.

Very encouraging to see 3 Rocket rookies in the top 20 AHL rookie scorers (Roy, Farell and Mailloux). And to have 2 rookies in the top 15 scorers among defensemen (Mailloux and Struble).

One thing that I just don’t get is why GMs don’t take a chance on offering contracts to players producing in the CHL but undrafted because of XYZ.

Keep forgetting Struble’s a rookie. What a beauty. He’s gonna be a dream boat of a 3rd pairing D man.

Hope he stays down long enough to get his offensive game going a bit more.
Stuble was never an offensive type dman (48 points in 104 games with Northeastern). He might become the defenseman that every opposing forward looks twice before trying to skate by him!!

Sly was a bad coach that is still coaching only because he's buddy with most of the league.

Houle is just an old school coach.

Given that MSL is a very new school coach, I think we should get a similar guy for the AHL spot.

Wouldn't be mad at taking a shot at Pominville, Gagné or JP Dumont.

For assistant coaches, PM Bouchard, Mathieu Perreault, Bergeron and Brassard could be good ''newbie'' tries. Hell, I'd even try Bergeron as head coach as long as he had some tactical assistant coach to help him.
Pominville would be a great choice. He’s doing a great job in Minor hockey

The predraft scouting report was he had a booming shot and good offensive instincts with some poor defensive choices. Essentially the same as Subban's predraft report. After that, he seems to be the exact opposite of what was advertised.

Morison has 9 pts in 10 games as a AHL rookie…Would have Ben a better Choice than Sam Harris or Erickson.

What is their record when Roy and Farrell play together?

Not a good one. Roy and Farrell have been playing on the same line for several games. They were centered by Condotta at first.

Those two have been having success together, but the team has struggled to win many games as a whole.

Before their back-to-back wins against Manitoba, they only had 2 wins in 10 games.

Hopefully these two wins could be the start of a string of wins.

The knock on Morrison is his skating. Is he going to be able to overcompensate with smarts and determiànation? Maybe. I think it's often worth taking a chance on high scoring CHLers in the later rounds, no?

Look at Joshua Roy today. A more promising prospect than most others that were available in the 5th round in 2021.

Some of those losses were bad goaltending though

Why would it be better than Eriksson?

He's playing a regular shift in the SHL at 18 years old and has done well playing against his own age group.

Personally I’m not even talking about using draft picks but simply signing those kind of players to a an AHL deal

The thing is, if you're offering an AHL deal, but another team is offering an ELC, the player will take the ELC. And in Montreal's case, with all the prospects they have in the pipeline, they have to be mindful of where they offer ELCs.

Personally, I would have been happy if they signed Morrison as an undrafted player. But Habs are clearly prioritizing internally rather than externally. And an AHL deal might not do it.

After 12 games, here is the pace the prospects are on:

- Mailloux is on pace for 42 pts (18G, 24A) in 72 GP
- Trudeau is on pace for 35 assists in 70 GP
- Struble is on pace for 25 pts (6G, 19A) in 71 GP
- Norlinder is on pace for 12 pts (6G, 6A) in 71 GP

- Roy is on pace for 92 pts (42G, 54A) in 72 GP
- Simoneau is on pace for 56 pts (14G, 42A) in 70 GP
- Farrell is on pace for 54 pts (18G, 36A) in 72 GP
- Mysak is on pace for 31 pts (8G, 23A) in 69 GP
- Davidson is on pace for 21 goals in 63 GP
- Kidney is on pace for 8 assists in 69 GP
