Am I reading the schedule correctly? They have laval playing 5 games in 1 week in November? How's that allowed? That's insane.
Turn your head slightly to the right and look at the whole week of the 12thnot sure what schedule you are looking at, in the first 11 days of Nov they play 3 games, Nov 1st, 3rd and 4th then they are off for 8 days till the 12th.

Off 8 days, them play 5 in 7. Who makes this schedule???
I can't believe the league allows that. Or the players union for that matter.I see, you said week 1 or I red it as the 1st week of Nov so I was looking at that, my bad. Yes they play 5 games in 1 week after having 8 days off, a stupid schedule as it puts players at risk of injury playing 5 games in 7 days.

I am surprised that they didn't have the foresight to sign an established AHL Veteran goalie.Just a terrible team.
Not just that. The team defence is bad. They run around in their own end a lot!I am surprised that they didn't have the foresight to sign an established AHL Veteran goalie.
Yeah but they have alot of established AHL vets on D. Goaltending is ECHL levelNot just that. The team defence is bad. They run around in their own end a lot!
Not just about who's on D. It's about team defence. Forwards too. They've all been horrible.Yeah but they have alot of established AHL vets on D. Goaltending is ECHL level
I was at the game tonight, thought Struble was solid the first 2 periods, then in the third he was on a mission, scored a goal and almost had a 2nd. The he was oddly benched for the last 8 minutes of the game. I sat 2 rows behind the Laval bench, so I had a good look at him. He seemed to be in the doghouse, he didn't budge, he knew he wasn't going to get icetime. No idea why, cause he was imo their best D tonight. I also don't get why he doesn't get any PP time. He definitely has top 4 tools, there's some offensive ability there, just needs more ice time to show it.

Houle had to get Paquet Bisson out there so he could kill every pressure with an unscreened flub shot from the point.
Houle f***ing sucks.
I am wondering if Hughes is really managing Laval as well, because it does not look like to me.
No vet goalie, but they signed bunch of vet centers. Which results to Dobeš struggling, but Kidney or Myšák having no top 9 minutes.
That actually sounds like a very good idea, even for someone like Lecavalier or Byron if they are ready for full time hockey job.Sedgwick is supposedly managing the Laval Rocket (on top of cap management) but as I’ve said in the past I think it’s a mistake for a team as wealthy as the Habs to not have a dedicated (A)GM for Laval.
Maillet produced everywhere he went. I dont get the panic mode you have regarding him or the team. They are 8 games in with half the team who has changed.Sedgwick is supposedly managing the Laval Rocket (on top of cap management) but as I’ve said in the past I think it’s a mistake for a team as wealthy as the Habs to not have a dedicated (A)GM for Laval.
The priority will always be NHL cap > Rocket stuff, it’s a good training ground for future management personnel, they could follow up more closely what Houle is doing, etc.
It’s supposed to be THE place to develop our prospects but we don’t have a vet goalie, a goon, veterans that can produce (who recommended hiring Maillet).

Shutdown physical 5/6 th defensemanOne year ago, I wondered if Struble was going to be signed, but for now, I think he is their best D. He is so stable and efficient. Doesnt make any mistakes despite a bad start for the team in general.
I am wondering what his ceiling could be. A good bottom pairing could be good, whats your thoughts on that?
