The AHL site has resolved the problem of its site at the rookie level and Roy, Farell, Mailloux, etc. are noted

Or Houle needs to correctly coach his team so it's not a tire fire defensively.

Houle is not implementing his own system. Laval is mirroring the NHL system that MSL has created and this system requires IQ which is the main reason that AHL players are not NHL players.

Players are developing well and that is the main goal. Playing a style that exploits the non NHL translatable weaknesses of the AHL to accrue wins is not the goal. Wins are great and are certainly preferred to losses but ultimately Houle's job is to prepare players to fit in as seamlessly as possible with Montreal if/when the time comes. If AHL wins and developmental goals occur simultaneously that would be a perfect outcome but wins can not come at the expense of NHL development.

Just saw the 5 point Roy video. Farrell looked pretty damn good himself

Two high IQ players seeing the ice in a similar fashion.

Good news for Tourigny possibly?

Laval still has 7D: Trudeau, Mailloux, Norlinder, Struble, Bisson, Galipeau & Beaudin.

I think they have a better chance of calling up a forward from 3R than a D, because Laval is now at 12F. So they have the least amount of F to fill out 4 lines. And if I had to guess who they'd call up from the forwards, it would be Novak, he's 3R's top scorer after 3 games.

What's Novak's skating like?

Unsure. Only one of 3R's games was on TV, but it was the same night Laval was playing (Roy's 5-point night). So my attention was more with Laval. I caught glimpses of 3R during Laval commercial breaks, but didn't really focus. So I couldn't say how good or bad Novak's skating is. I do get the early feeling he will be too good for ECHL and will likely get called up at some point.

I honestly felt he'd be called up before Parker-Jones, but I'm okay with the decision they made.

Dobes isn't as bad. But it was clear even during his success in the NCAA that he doesn't have the most translatable game for the pros. And it shows. He was succesful in the NCAA 'cause he was big. And had huge reflexes.

In the pros, you need to be composed. He's far from it. Often overcommits. I mean just look at Fowler's game vs his. Difference is clear as day.

We need to release Strauss Mann. And find a better goalie to help Dobes whose sole goal this year would be to practice a lot...and see around 15-20 games.

Try to get Domingue, Pickard, Rittich or even good old Kinkaid.

Pretty sure people were saying Dobes' game would translate better to the pros than Primeau.

Yeah a lot of those goals weren’t his fault but he needs to be more composed back there
