I still think it's a bone bruise from blocking a shot. Can't be seen on scans, uncertain recovery time, not much you can do about it, etc.

I'm guessing it's a muscle strain b/c what could seem like it should be a week recovery ends up being far longer. The recovery is incremental, implying a higher grade strain. Regardless of the injury, I'm glad that the Ducks have enough talent depth to allow Drysdale to fully heal to not rush Drysdale back onto the ice.

they are also the players on show me contracts for what this worth... plenty of time still on them but yeah

Yea. Seriously arent we getting close to ir time frame for jd without an update?
Last game was on 10/15, and the single update has been "lower body injury". I'm guessing it's a nagging thing where you can't do much besides rest and re-evaluate (high grade sprain, hamstring/groin issue, etc.)

I'm not an NHL contract expert or anything, but I guess if we don't need the cap relief and we aren't planning on calling anyone up then it doesn't really matter. Not sure if there's a point where a team is required to put someone on IR unless it's something like a season ending injury (LTIR).

Drysdale is on IR. Capfriendly.
