LBI hopefully just some sort of muscle strain or pull from going too hard too fast, especially since he missed most of camp.
Getzlaf used to have his annual early season groin pull right around this time
I think PV has his hands in this, looking at Leo situation and how he manages him, i think he advised going carefully with JD.

very concerning that drysdale can't stay healthy, especially given his age
I get the concern, but he has 1 major injury and another minor-ish injury that we dont even know the details on.

It isn't like he is 5 years into his career and has only played 200 games. And his injury wasn't something like a concussion, neck, back, etc that tend to linger and sometimes never go away. Torn Labrums generally take 2 years to come back and be 100% yourself, similar to ACLs.

Not to mention he missed most of training camp and pre season. Are you really shocked he may have pulled a muscle? The Ducks just need to be patient and let him heal up.

So either we're losing some players to waivers or the Gulls are going to get better?

Can't see how all of these guys fit

At the moment, we have one roster spot open. CapFriendly lists 13F, 7D, and 2G. We can add Killorn without a hitch. Adding McGinn is where we have to waive someone, and that someone might just be McGinn.

Things will get interesting once Drysdale returns. Which forward is going to be waived, is Vaaks going to be waived, or is Luneau going to be sent back to juniors?
