Drysdale is beginning to concern me long term. Might just be that he jumped back in too soon after missing a full season and getting into camp late, but 2 different injuries taking him out for stretches like this has me wondering if this is going to be the norm or just a fluke.
It seems unfair, but staying healthy is a skill involving both innate attributes (body type, build, etc.) and learned attributes (strength and flexibility training, play style, etc.). Of course it involves luck as well, but some players struggle with injuries because they're not built to take impact and/or they don't train their body to withstand impact.
Drysdale is a smaller guy who, to his credit, doesn't shy away from shot-blocking or physical aspects of the game. His body might not be wired to handle that kind of punishment. And as it was mentioned above, it's to Verbeek's credit that he played hardball with Drysdale until they can determine whether these are just unlucky incidents or part of the establishment of a pattern.
It sucks for Drysdale, though.
