I think this board has gotten a little ahead of itself on Hvidston. Good player but he's being overhyped here IMO.
Ya there are only 2 drafted forwards on that list who were picked after the 3rd round. Hvidston would have had to dominate last season to have much of a shot.

Maybe they didn't know he would have been a first round pick this year.
To be fair, I think he'd be a second rounder

Not sure about that. I personally started to vote him starting #8 in our prospect polls and I didn't saw him being mentioned earlier, I think I was the first one. I don't think it's that unreasonable. Especially since he ended up outside our top10

Looks like LaCombe left.

I think this is underrated on how important that is to a team. Friedman talked about on his podcast that Dallas had a really serious room. They needed someone lighten the mood and bring the guys together and traded for Domi. It apparently had a really big impact.

PV is clearly focusing on team culture. Killorn and Gudas are perfect examples of that. It seems like the Ducks see him as an impact player on and off the ice and I agree.

Isn’t that what you want in a dressing room? All I hear this off-season is how quiet Torontos is.

I don’t know how Anaheims locker room was. But if it’s on ice performances were any Indicator, it was probably a too relaxed culture in there.

The way he framed it was that the guys were too serious. They would take everything too hard and not let the small stuff go. There has to be balance and my overall point is that a healthy locker room translates to success. I agree that it was probably too relaxed with Eakins.

Gonna give him some more love in the space, but here’s Derek Lee’s take on the defensemen in the system (a little late)

Would be cool if we could find someone to handle the big club, Derek seems to enjoy the amateur side of reporting given most of his articles are geared towards prospects and his presence at development camp

I'm choosing to see Zell's D0/1/2 as consistency and not stagnation lol
It’s neither, it’s improvement year after year. It’s just not reflected by counting stats. Since his draft year his goal scoring and shooting numbers skyrocketed. He also was much more productive, even with his Everett team being much weaker this year, he still was well over a point per game. And then if you look at his Kamloops stats they are cartoonish, and his Kamloops team was much more similar in talent to his Everett team from his D+1. All this while steadily refining his defensive game, and building muscle. He is a much improved product.

Some of that might also be because he has more access to the amateur side of things than to the Ducks.

Oh, I think he'll be a great player, I just don't want to be disappointed lol
