Not certain what he was doing but he very intentionally put his finger/over/around the mouth of another player in a scrum.

Most interesting tidbit of this tweet is the last one. Man’s out here taking 31(!) draws

Hvidston has the most faceoff attempts (FOA) so far this season for Swift Current with 76 attempts in only three games. Last year he had the 2nd most FOA with 1178 attempts.

Something odd about Hvidston. At the WHL site, he's listed as a RW and shoots right. Elite Prospects has him as a W/C and shoots left. From the game highlights, he looks like a left shooter.

In three games, Hvidston is 3g + 2a. All three goals are PP goals. This kinda reminds me of Tracey's 2nd season with Victoria, who was rebuilding and no offense. Most of Tracey's scoring was on the PP b/c the team was lacking offensive talent to score at ES.

I've been pretty high on Hvidston for more than a year. After this season, he absolutely needs to be given full-time pro hockey minutes. He doesn't really have much left to prove in juniors, and it becomes clear right now looking at his stats line on a subpar Swift Current team that will be going nowhere.

I think a realistic scenario for him will be juniors until the end of their season, then back to the AHL and staying there for all of 2024-25 with a few games up with the big club and ultimately a full-time spot in our bottom-six from 2025-26 on. I view him as a great defensive player with quite some untapped offensive potential, who could very well be a new version of our favorite Swedish meatball, Samuel Pahlsson.

Sidorov named second star of his game.
With 2+1 in a win, he stil somehow managed to be -1, lol. But his offensive talent is undeniable

Glad to see Hvid starting this season strong. Not surprised one bit tho

Hvidston does have much to prove. He's gotta show that last year's production wasn't a fluke. He's also gotta show improvement in his game such as incrementally improving his defense and EV scoring. In just three games, his PP production looks like it's definitely improved to show he's a finisher.

Being a Sept baby, Hvidston can put on more bulk for this season to prepare for his pro career in the near future.

Broncos' leading scorer from last year and Devils' draftee, Josh Filmon was recently returned to Swift Current. Filmon has played two games with the Broncos, earning 0g + 3a in his return. Two more NHL prospects have not yet been returned in D Owen Pickering (Pens) and G Reid Dyck (Bruins), as both don't turn 20 years old until January 2024. Pickering is injured and may stay longer with the Pens, medical staff is probably better, and then returned when healed. I'd like the NHL prospects to help lead the Broncos to the playoffs.

Swift Current barely missed the playoffs and I wondered if Hvidston wasn't injured, then would the Broncos have made the playoffs? Can Hvidston be a leader for his subpar team to will them into the playoffs this season? Before Hvidston joined the team, the Broncos were 0-2 with a -5 goal differential. Since, the Broncos are now 2-1 with a +4 goal differential.

If Swift Current makes the playoffs and Hvidston is on the team, then Hvidston probably won't see the AHL this year.

Fun game, Dionicio was deployed in all sorts of manners, one moment he will be a physical PKer, the next he will be put on the wing on the PP. fascinating profile.
As long as he can keep that production as he moved up the leagues he will at least be a valuable asset even if he is a liability… like a physical version of Yandle?

2 goals for Hvidston tonight, 5 in his first 4 games to open the season. Swift Current blew a 3 goal 3rd period lead and lost 8-7 in overtime, they don’t seem to be very good, wouldn’t surprise me if they move him to a contender at the WHL trade deadline

The Swift Current Broncos are missing D Owen Pickering. He's still with Pittsburgh, but that's due to an UBI discovered around rookie camp. Once Pickering is healed, he will be sent back to juniors b/c he won't turn 20 years old until after Dec 31st, That should be a big boost for the Swift Current blue line.

The Broncos are also missing 19-year old G Reid Dyck, a Bruins prospect. I don't know why Dyck hasn't been returned yet.
