Roster Notes:

With the NHL Senators back from their Global Series trip to Sweden, defenders Jacob Larsson and Tyler Kleven, forward Matt Highmore and goaltender Mads Sogaard all returned to Belleville last week. However, Highmore and Sogaard were recalled again to Ottawa and are not with the B-Sens for tonight’s game. There’s not much good news on the injury front yet either, with both Cole Reinhardt and Graham McPhee added to the club’s injured list this week. They join Tarun Fizer, Tyler Boucher, Phil Daoust, and Brennan Saulnier. To help fill the void forward Orrin Centazzo was signed to a PTO from the Toledo Walleye (ECHL) and will play on a line alongside Zack Ostapchuk and Egor Sokolov. Full lineup details will be available prior to the puck drop.

Who to watch:

Senators leading goal-scorer Angus Crookshank continues to be the most consistent offensive threat for the Senators, riding a four-game point streak into tonight (three goals, two assists). Crookshank had a goal, plus eight shots on net in last Saturday’s loss, and has registered at least a point in eight of his last nine games.

The Wolf Pack have three players riding significant point streaks coming into tonight, including AHL leading scorer Jonny Brodzinski and Riley Nash. Brodinski has five goals and seven assists over that span, while Nash has one goal and six assists. Former Laval Rocket standout Alex Belzile is on a five-game point streak (four goals, four assists) for Hartford, while forward Adam Edstrom is also on a three-game goal streak.

Follow the action:

Tonight’s game starts at 7:30 p.m. (ET) can be seen on AHL TV and heard on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.

BSens lose 3-4 in OT

Mandolese was injured in last few mins of game but played on and then let in 2 goals and was helped off the ice by his teammates, why did they not bring in Merilainen?

At some point this year, Crookshank, Reinhardt and Guenette need to see some games. Have to make a decision on these guys. Not as much Guenette he’s a little younger.
It’s time to trade Sokolov if possible I guess. Otherwise he needs a chance too.

Roster Notes:

The only change to the Belleville lineup today will be in net, as Leevi Merilainen takes the reigns from Kevin Mandolese. Defender Donovan Sebrango has come off the injured list but won’t dress this afternoon, while Cole Reinhardt, Graham McPhee, Tarun Fizer, Tyler Boucher, Phil Daoust and Brennan Saulnier are all still hurt. Full lineup details, including this afternoon’s alignment, will be available prior to puck drop.

Who to Watch:

Belleville forward Egor Sokolov was held pointless again last night, making it the first time this season that the Sens all-time leading scorer has been held off the scoresheet in back-to-back games. He’ll likely have a chip on his shoulder coming into this afternoon’s contest. Forward Jiri Smejkal has been buzzing of late as well, with an assist last night and a couple of strong drives to the net, as he continues to adjust to the North American Style game.

The Islanders are led offensively by sophomore sniper Ruslan Ishakov. The 23-year-old has 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 17 games so far this season, after putting up 51 points (17 goals, 24 assists) over 69 games in his rookie campaign. He was also a late addition to the Atlantic Division roster for last season’s AHL All Star Classic in Laval.

Today’s game starts at 3:00 p.m. (ET) can be seen on AHL TV and heard on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.
