And lots of Russians on the team to help him.
I will say one factor every guy Grier brings in has is that high end motor/compete. I don’t know much about Kaliyev other than he has a lot of skill/good shot and speed, but I don’t think he has the compete thing going for him.
I was thinking yesterday, after the Kovalenko intermission interview and the Askarov three stars celebration, that at least a few of the Russians on our team seem to be really fun, positive personalities. Kostin's interviews are also great. Shak seems like the quiet one of the group.
Actually, that makes me think after being in that other boy band thread...we basically have our Russian boy band. Georgiev is honorary Russian, anyway (grew up there), so yeah, there you go. He's the moody one.
So his game has fallen off a cliff since last year then?
Wouldn't hurt Florida to have some experienced depth.
It's important to remember that last year's Sharks team was historically bad. This year's team, thankfully, is not.
Rutta has been a good mentor and I hate saying anything bad about him, but these days he would feel very out of place on a team as talented and ambitious as the Panthers.
