Speculation: 2023-24-25-26 Sharks Roster Discussion

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Seriously, there are mediocre teams that are directionless like Seattle and St. Louis then there are mediocre teams like us, Anaheim and Utah who have a realistic path to contention
I actually think Buffalo is the one that makes the most sense for Robertson. They have the cap space now after moving from Tuch, Byram and Greenway, and they have the 4OV and other propsects available. I just don't see Dallas shipping him West.

We need a three way that brings both Robo brothers to SJ. I bet Jason would be down for that lol. Make it part of a Rielly deal lol.

There was 20 minutes where I was like “yeah, that’s a sneaky good idea!” But then I remembered where the Robertsons are from. Maybe not if there was only one, but with two, for sure they’re going to infect the entire locker room with “The 280” and “The 101” and that I cannot abide.

You can fix that. I went to school in SoCal and picked up “the 101” “the five” while I was there.

The bigger issue is that Nick Robertson belongs in the AHL.

How to say this… I always knew there was something fishy about you. Well, now it all makes sense :sarcasm:

But seriously. Something fishy.

It'll always be the 405 to me. (And that's it for "the" highways. But now I live in a state where they try to call the interstates "The Northway" and "The Thruway" and, ffs, just let me call them by their numbers because I can't keep track of where these things begin and end!)

In all seriousness, it's not a sneaky idea. I just vividly remember Scott Niedermayer turning us down to go to Anaheim so he could play with his brother Rob.

And I remember the Sharks failed attempts to pull this off with Freddie Hamilton and Rylan Schwartz. Lol

Which do you guys prefer?

1) Stenberg + Rudolph/Gustaffson
2) Reid + Rudolph/Gustaffson or Belchetz is a group.

With option 1, I worry about a run on RD like previous years and WPG might target Rudolph bec he's from Alberta and play in WHL... Gustaffson is fine back up plan i guess but I prefer 2 to make sure we get the hard to find RD of our choice.

Then Sharks are free to free to take a D that falls or PF like Belchetz need and make our team bigger for playoffs.

I think 2 is my preferred. Stabilize your D with guys that can likely join NHL in 2 years. Even Belchetz addresses a need and make our fwd group bigger for PO.
I don't like getting both Reid and Rudolph.
All the other combos can work.
