Speculation: 2023-24-25-26 Sharks Roster Discussion

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Says that CAR is offering a 1st plus Nikishin for Helly. I suppose that helps estimate his value in terms of what they'd be asking for, but I don't see them as a team looking to collect picks.
Also mentions the Sharks as a team "positioned" to take a run at Hellebuyck

I'd give up Askarov and a top 10 protected 1st next year if he's willing to come here

I don't think Asky is ever gonna be the guy and Hellebuyck is the perfect bridge to Ravensbergen potentially taking over

I have a hard time believing the team that just won a Cup with Brandon Bussi is in the market for an expensive goaltender.
For any old goalie, I would agree. That said, they have to have seen Florida load up to beat their tails again next year and realize they need an upgrade somewhere.

Would also probably be good business for them to get their slice of the Team USA brotherhood to try and lure some others (Larkin maybe?) their way.

This is such a mistake. Helly is a positional goalie. With Carolina’s system they give up the most high danger chances of contenders. They should go after Bob over Helly.

I would be curious if Florida somehow trades Lundell + for Helly.

Hellebuyck consistently shitting the bed in the playoffs makes him “any old goalie” in my book.

Don't see how a trade could work between Sharks and Blues. They have nothing I'd want that they'd be willing to partake with. Maybe if they somehow got the 4th or 5th pick, they could trade up...

Carolina targeting Hellebuyck makes little sense. They just won with average (at best) goaltending.

broberg, and paraykho would make me take their call at least

Why is Pierre LeBrun saying there's no deadline for the Stars to make a decision on Robertson? He can be offer sheeted in less than a week

I think they'd dare someone to trade them 4 unprotected 1st rounders for him. Anyone can fall off for a year as evidenced by Florida this year. If that is the worst outcome, I think Dallas is right to say they have no deadline.

Chicago can continue stockpiling random assets 7x$14M with a max OS.

Robertson-Bedard-Kantserov
Teuvo-Nazar-Frondell
Moore-Donato-Bertuzzi

Byram-Lev
Vlasic-Rinzel
EDM-Kaiser

That team is worlds better and also not particularly interesting.

I do think Dallas get him signed though

Even if nobody offer sheets him can't he file for arbitration and get a 1 year award that walks him to UFA?

So I guess the real deadline is his arbitration hearing date

I would still be down to send 2OA plus other stuff to Dallas for him

Try to keep 9 and 27 to trade up for a defenseman though

Parayko might have a bounce-back season, and Broberg could hopefully develop further, but neither player is one I trade #2 for straight-up. It would have to be something like #5 + Broberg.

This is the reason why top-5 picks are rarely traded. Too much variability in outcomes.
