I wasn't sold on him last summer when his name started getting mentioned around here, but I've changed my tune since. I got the opportunity to watch him in the playoffs and I think if you dropped him between Lehkonen and Rantanen you've got something stewing.

I did too, but it also convinced me they'd only take Toews, not Girard, and now Hanifin may be on the market as well.

The Avs should say Toews is on the market to drive down Hanifins value. Then they should go to Calgary and say, if you want to maximize Hanifins trade return by not having Toews also available for trade, trade us Lindholm for something reasonable.

It would be nice if Manson plays 30 games, let alone 20 minutes a night.

True.. I'm trying to be glass half full on him and Landy though. So..

This is the way

Girard for Pesce doesn't make a ton of sense. If the Avs want to properly address the 2C position, they have to move Girard/Toews for one.

If they bring in a 2C without giving up one of them, they'll likely be bringing in someone who is a risk. And I'm not sure they can afford to take risks on that position anymore.

They'll probably want to bring in a puck moving LD to replace some of what Girard/Toews brings too. Not sure if Behrens is making the jump but they can't bank on him anyway.

Andrew Peeke out of Columbus seems like a more realistic RD target IMO if EJ isn't coming back.

Exactly, I'm so over people believing that they're handcuffed. Sakic would quit immediately if he had to beg to spend to what the cap allows. I fully believe that, and he's been asked that question early. So was Roy I believe.

I think it's been proven that ownership will spend to the cap when they're a playoff team. When they're not though, they've proven they're a budget team.

They also don't spend a ton outside of the actual roster. Which they have to, in order to remain competitive. This isn't a criticism, it's probably shrewd to do business like this.

But they have a relatively small scouting staff, despite an obvious need for years now to improve on the amateur side. Outside of Roy and Bednar's well earned latest contract, they've favored cheap young/rookie head coaches. Same with their GM's.

It took forever to upgrade the jumbotron. Took forever to upgrade the locker room. They still haven’t upgraded the practice facility.

Also, they’ve never been a big fan of buyouts, and have seemed very reluctant to use LTIR to their advantage like other teams, when they’ve had multiple chances to do so. But this would mean spending more than the cap.

Seems different with Landy’s situation now, as they know they won’t have him, and have to replace him.

Ownership has shown they'll spend to the cap with a good team, but hasn't really shown the same willingness to spend over the cap as some of the other big money teams in the league.

Speaking as someone that lives in Kerrisdale, it’s overrated unless you’re over the age of 50.

Kits/Point Grey/Yaletown/Mt. Pleasant would be my top choices.
I lived in Kits for a spell. What about Deep Cove? Maybe not technically Vancouver. West Bay?

Deep Cove is lovely but I wouldn't want to live there. Too far out of the way and you need to deal with bridge traffic. Think you're the first person i've heard of that mentioned West Bay - I know nothing about it besides that you drive through it to get onto the Sea to Sky.

Omg are we neighbours?!?

I’m more on the Granville side
Damn, guess I need to relocate. I'm a few blocks away from the Kerrisdale strip - which on first glance seems ideal until you realize it's all coffee shops and bubble tea, with a few mediocre restaurants sprinkled in.
