I will bet Pavel beats out Meyers for 4C come training camp.

His play style fits the role better and I think Bednar will prefer how he plays to that of Meyers' style.

IMO Meyers is a AAAA player. Really good in the AHL, not nearly good enough for a top-9 NHL role, can't play a 4th line role.

Yeah, I think Pavel will get a look in camp. He, like Meyers might need some time in the AHL too though.

I’m not ready to close the door on Meyers. I like the way he skates. Maybe he’s just a Megna-type in the end that floats between the AHL and NHL, but I think the Avs want to give him another good look this year.

No, nothing concrete

If I had to throw out an educated guess, I'd say Dubois and Larkin

If you're talking about the Avs circling back to the same player at the trade deadline, neither really makes sense. Detroit was trying to re-up Larkin before the deadline (and ended up signing him 2 days before the deadline), no way they would have let any other team talk contract with him. Winnipeg was fighting for playoffs and desperately needed the extra gate revenue for their books, I highly doubt they were considering giving up Dubois at the deadline.

WTF are the Kings doing? I thought they couldn't wait for Kopitar's contract to expire.

With Kopitar, PLD and Danault all signed for 3+ years in front of him, Byfield might as well ask for a trade...and I'm not even talking about Turcotte.
Looking like Byfield may not be a center

What are some multi positional rfas we could trade for?
Morgan Barron?
Morgan Frost?
Noah Cates?
Rasmus Kupari?
Phillip Kurashev?

You don't sign Drouin then play him on the 3rd line just so you can appease Zadina.

Drouin has had a rough go of it the last several years but he has still shown to be a better player than Zadina. That move would make zero sense and would probably piss MacKinnon off, too. We know he wants Drouin here.

For a fact

Drouin is 1st line or bust. If we start playing him on the 2nd or 3rd line we're getting the same old Montreal Drouin and he might as well buy his ticket to join the Swiss league because he's out.

This I don't agree with. Drouin is an NHL player, and even the best lines go cold, but he's getting a very good shot.

You think if Bednar asks him to play on line 2 in order to give it a different look for a minute he's going to say fk this? Especially if Ryjo plays anywhere near his capabilities?

They're on the same team. If Drouin uncorkes himself he may be asked to drive that line.

This is like UNO with two fkn wild cards. They're just cards until they turn into cheat codes for winning. I'm not making any 100% predictions for or against them until they hit the ice.

Bednar at one point was down with basically spreading the top six over three lines. Maybe Mack and Drouin are attached at the hip, maybe not.

Edit.. For the record I have zero need to see Zadina here. Liked him same as I liked Kaut in their drafts. Even reminds me of him, the difference is Zadina got all the chances in the world to play with the best players available on that team, and did jack shit with it offensively.

I still think the Avalanche gotta move a D out to do what they want to get done this off season. I don't think they can roll in hoping Olausson and Myers come in to fill roles.

At least it's 4th line guys, a 3W, and a Top 4, or 6th D. Depending on how many minutes Manson can realistically play.

All shit way easier to fill than 2 fkn C, or a goalie for fk sakes. Even a top 6 wing won't be that much of a difficulty.

Where it will get stupid is if they need both a top six wing, and a top 4 D. Both of those at the same time will take serious creativity in season.

Honestly giving a couple of young players real shots is probably a good idea as well. You get to know what you've got.

Tampa has been doing that for a while with success. Yeah they draft better, but our pro scouts are legit. So we've went after older players further along in their development.

Mack wants the puck all the time for the one timers and stuff, I’m sure that’s not just on Makar. Bring in Karlsson or anyone else, they all gonna pass more to MacK than shoot it themselves

Makar is actually getting better about that. A Con Smythe will do that lol.

Mack doesn’t have shit on Makar anymore.
