I want bottom 6ers who, while able to score the odd goal or two, are the type of dudes that defensemen retrieving pucks in their zone look over their shoulder and say "ah, f***." I want guys who are going to wear you down shift after shift with relentless energy and checking. I want guys who close down gaps with insane pressure.

I want to believe some of those exist.
You're a goaltender. You shouldn't be catered to.

Awwwww, that's disappointing mate, I'm sorry about your experience. Unfortunately celebrity and popularity does affect some people. Kinda sucks reading that, not going to lie.

Nah, don’t be. I wasn’t crushed at all. I know he’s not a nice guy.

He’s my favourite athlete ever because of the level of compete and desire to be the best he displayed his entire career. He took big moments by the balls. An unfazed rookie winning the Stanley Cup. 11 overtime wins for the second cup win, nerves of absolute steel. The sheer confidence and yes, arrogance, elevated him to another level.

I don’t look up to him as a role model. My godfather is a priest, I have enough pure examples around me.

I love Patrick Roy for everything he represented; being a winner.

I think its more likely no contending team was willing to give him 4 millions for 3 more years, as contending team are usually quite against the cap already. And he did not want to go to non-contending team.

4m AAV for a near PPG player who’s skating will keep him very useful.

Contending teams would love that.

What contending teams don’t want is a loser.

It's such a low risk move for us in particular that it really does make a lot of sense.

Also, a guy that would miss the first 2-3 months of the season. With Landy already on LTIR, and a team that doesn't want to use it, it just seems like such a bizarre fit. If you can get him for under $1M, maybe take a chance, but I would still dislike it. I'd much rather take a chance on Pat Kane, or Duchene, or Tarasenko, or even ROR.

If Wheeler is a cancer Mackinnon is worldwide Ebola. Two guys that will do anything to win and demand that you do the same. Yes you do need some counterbalance but i don't have any issues bringing more of that in.
I'm a bit hesitant with Landy out. He was clearly a commanding and calming presence. Without him on the bench or in the room I'd be careful about what sort of personalities are brought in. Especially if Erik Johnson is also gone.

Avs probably have zero interest in brining Duchene back. If they had interest, they would have gotten him instead of RyJo on exact same deal.

Maybe CMac is worried about Landy getting lonely during rehab. This move would give him a rehab partner.
