So no one wanted him at 50%?

A guy who trashes his own coaches and sets bad examples for young players.

Celebrates personal accomplishments over team failures or successes(ask Patrick Roy what he thinks of Matt Duchene).

Has no understanding of what it means to dig deep and persevere.

Entitled, self-inflated ego. Never won shit and thinks he knows best. Accepts failure and losing.

God, he’s the exact type of personality winners stay away from. Every organization he’s been with so far has experienced his bullshit.

Keep this loser far, far away.

He's only allowed to come back if we immediately trade him to Ottawa again.

In fairness, this happened eons ago. Things change and so do people. I'm quite certain that Dutchy isn't the same duchebag he was when he left 5ish years ago.

Duchene is certainly the best player in this free agent class now and he's going to cash in. He's getting ~15m of his ~20m left and is going to probably find a team willing to pay him 20m for 4 seasons. Probably the best thing possible for him financially just happened.

Fun idea: Duchene signs a 1 year "win now" at a low price for a shot at a Cup and plays the market next summer with an expected bump in the cap.

(This is not likely but we're all just having fun here)

Dutchy is likely out of our price range, but he’d be an ideal fit, as there’s a hole at wing in the top-6.
He's getting paid by another team and will soon be at the stage of chasing a cup. A cheap show me deal for the place his heart has been all along imo.

Back to the real world, you'd have to think that this is the year that the Avs finally get their man Kulikov

If Duchene is willing to come back for a 1 year deal for minimum money (think <2.5 AAV). That is more then enough to show me that he's here to win and I would welcome him back with open arms. No brainer at that point. Cmac should be calling Ryjo and telling him to convince Duchene to come here for cheap.

The most important question here is does Denver have a big country music scene?
