The teams stacked. They might not have the best duo or even trio in the league but they have six top 100 players in the league that can all space the floor and get buckets inside. Hard for any team to defend against that. If they can find a playable big that fits into the Grant Williams tpe they don't have any real weakness

they had a good start last year too. Too bad they jsut cant fastforward to playoffs

Hopefully they just dress everyone every game and keep it 32 minutes or less

Celtics remind me early on of 2007 Patriots & 2022-23 Bruins they are so loaded

It's an odd NBA stat but Obi Toppin was a -41 and the Pacers starting 5 was a combined -132 in tonight's game.

Well this makes last night's win even more impressive. :thumbu:

from cbssports.com:

The Boston Celtics are 4-0 for the first time in 14 years after laying a 155-104 beating on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. The 155 points scored is the second-highest single-game total in franchise history, trailing only the 173 the Celtics hung on the Minneapolis Lakers way back in 1959.

In addition, the 51-point margin of victory represents the third highest in franchise history, trailing a 53-point win over Sacramento in 2022 and a 58-point win over Chicago in 2018.

Was there last night and from minute two they just dominated everything. Pacers are a better team than they showed but the Celtics took seemingly every offensive rebound and converted all night. Kids were hoping to see more of the big 6 but had fun regardless. They just need another big for the rim protection as a 3rd option C for late playoffs and sky’s the limit.

They are a more talented team than last season but they still have the same dumbass coaching them. You aren't going to win a title just playing 5 out and chucking three pointers the entire game but that's all Mazzulla knows. He's a baseball nerd in the wrong sport

I think you are correct.

I think you are correct.

Like 40 games into last year i realized the guy only cares about shooting three pointers. If the Celtics make and attempt more threes than the other team he thinks they played well. Mazzulla has them playing like the Rockets teams that never reached the finals. Iso and drive and kick repeated over and over. No motion or off ball screens to get guys open looks like the Warriors and Heat do. Also for a coach who obsesses about the three ball so much, the team gives up a lot of good looks from deep.

Great teams can overcome bad coaches but Mazzulla is a really bad coach. Udoka has a terrible Rockets team 4-3 and the 7th best defense when they couldn't stop anyone last year but he spent years as a player and assistant learning. Not just getting a job he didn't deserve with an arrogance a lot of analytics heavy people in sports have

The good news is I don't think Brad is messing around this year. If they identify Mazzulla as the weak link as this season goes on I think they will pull the plug. There is a sense of urgency on this season. They have enough internal candidates to make a move.
