Pretty sure ‘Gaudreau’ actually supposed to re GAbe perrEAUlt

Given how many drafted Fs signed and joined Pack last 2+ years(Othmann, Cuylle, Edstrom, Berard, Sykora, Korczak, Rempe, Trivigno(UDFA), karlH)
not concerned that the amateur F depth is shallower for now.
Adding Barbashev, Laba, Vaisenen, Karpa to Gabe, BMB, Chmelar plus the couple guys drafted late in ‘23 is decent, behind the young pros, (some, like Othmann, Sykora very young)

I guess he reminds me of Johnny hockey.

HockeyDB, (not most reliable re keeping current re such data but works easy on phone)
Has Jonny hockey 5’9” 165#
Gabe 5’11” 165#

Perreault's not a 6'er. We've drafted a lot of big forwards in recent years but he's not one of those. He dropped further than I thought he would in the draft---his main thing and I think he'll need a couple years is put some weight on and get stronger and work a bit more on his skating. Gabriel's got very good edges though. It's just getting a little faster would help. 17/18 year olds....there's almost always something no matter how good they are.

Perreault with a primary assist on BC's 1st goal. BC wins 3-2. Perreault with 8 points in 7 games.
great to see him off to a real good start.
The guy with the winning goal (Minnetian) is another guy they should have drafted and they had the chance to.

I'm so excited for him. Hoping he ends up being as good as Panarin who he does remind me of in terms of creativity and slowing the game down. Does he drive play to the same degree? I know that was the knock on him
He's not as dynamic/quick as Panarin, but he sees the ice very well and makes up for his lack of speed by knowing where to be.

Perreault with 8 points in 7 games
Othmann with 7 points in 8 games
Jarin Chmelař with 9 points in 7 games
Brett Berard with 6 points in 8 games

That's what you want to see from your prospects.
Still a big fan of Berard. Hopefully we get to see him and his tenacity on broadway in a year or two.

Most happy about Berard since half the board wrote him off because he didnt dominate as much as they wanted last year in the NCAA. 6 points in 8 games as a rookie is impressive.
He basically dropped 3 spots in the poll. From fourth last winter to eighth, but Perreault knocked everyone down a spot. He had a legitimately tough season. Basically all of Providence did, which made it hard to really assess if there was some regression in his game or if it was a team-wide issue. I remember Miller "regressing" his Sophomore year when really he was still playing well individually and it was more a matter of that team being a mess.

Good to see him doing well in Hartford. Agreed on that point. It's still going to be an uphill battle for him but he's a dynamic player, so we'll see how it goes.
