It's almost nice that the teams with games in hand are going to catch up this week. We won't have it on the back of our mind.
What i don't like is we're playing Vancouver who will play on February 6th and 8th and play us on the 10th. I expect we will have lost all the momentum we had in January and may be slow out the gate on the 10th. Meanwhile Vancouver will have those two games under their belts which could make a difference. The good news might be when we hit Vancouver on 15th which will be Vancouver's 6th game in 10 nights. I'm in Vancouver for that game.

Leafs lose, Still treading water with the Red Wings, though 2 games in hand.

Need to be Avalanche/Jets/Canadians/Canucks fans tonight. Lotta watching for us Red Wings fans this week.

By the time Wings play Saturday there should be a "settling" of what the playoff picture. Capitals/Penguins/Devils all catch up 2 games on the Wings.

Not a good night for the most part. Boo Avalanche, boo Jets and boo Panthers.

Yeah.

Red Wings just have to keep winning and collect 100 points. Then those playoff spot rivals won't have any chance.

We have 58 points after 50 games. (.580 record, and currently 95-point pace)

Need to collect 42 points from last 32 games to get 100p. (0.656 record)

Demanding and hard, but possible. Let's get 100 points!

I hate to say this after an injury, but whatever just happened to Sergachev probably puts Tampa out of the playoffs.

not so sure tbh. Sergachev has apparently been out for a month and a half and this was his first game back. So they haven't had him for a lot of games and were treading water pretty okay. We could possibly take over the WC1 spot and they get the WC2 spot.

So, we are fighting toronto and florida at this point for WC1 and 3rd place in the division. Going to be a fun race

Tampa has had a good period with their new young defencemen. But I could think they go now after Hanifin (to replace Serga for rest of the year) and will sacrifise more futures.

We may get in with 96 to 97 points. Realistically with 14 home games and 18 on the road I cannot see 100 points.

I think the door is wide open. We need to hold our ground in this last home game and during that tough northwest trip, plus the Avalanche game. Anything above 6pts during that stretch is a positive imo. After that I think we got WSH, CHI and STL. You gotta take those games. And after that I think we still got 2x PIT 1x NYI 3x BUF 2x WSH and a back-to-back with MTL to close out the season. No more Mr. Butterfingers in those games.
