Outside of my shock, it's great to realize that so many players are taking advantage of the player assistance program now.
A dirty hit that f***ing blatant should be the easiest kind to send a message on.
I genuinely hate DOPS and Parros. I don't think he's incompetent I think he's malicious about picking and choosing how to dole out punishment.
Hope it has some real support for players these days. Read "Boy on Ice" a couple years ago and the assistance program seemed less than helpful.Outside of my shock, it's great to realize that so many players are taking advantage of the player assistance program now.
well said, this story is only going to get worse for those involved. Hockey Canada turned a blind eye for decades and it has finally caught up to themWe now know definitively that Formenton was one of the guys:
Ex-NHLer Alex Formenton has been charged by police in Canada and turned himself in, his lawyer says
Former NHL player Alex Formenton has turned himself in to police in connection with an investigation into an alleged sexual assault by several members of Canada's 2018 world junior team.apnews.com
I would just add good on the Sens for getting in front of this. Shame the other clubs involved here seemed to have done nothing even though they had to be aware of what was going on.

There are many instances over the decades of other instances that were given a blind eye to.Didn't this happen in 2018?

They even had a special lawyer retained for these instances...
this particular incident yes, but this isn`t a one off for Hockey Canada, this special focuses only on 2018, warning, very sensitive subject matter discussedDidn't this happen in 2018?
Should of been the Brave Little Toasters
I for one hope everyone gets their day in court.
Same. And if it doesn't happen until 2026 that's ludicrous but of course at the same time completely typical. The case shouldn't get specially privileged just because some of those involved are famous. But this places the league and the teams in a very difficult position. The players have been charged but not convicted, and therefore retain their presumption of innocence, their freedom (with conditions) and in principle at least their right to work. Are they going to just sit on the shelf for 2 or more years? Or play with a huge cloud hanging over their heads? The latter seems unlikely but at the same time staying in limbo for that long doesn't seem right either.
The slowness of the court systems in pretty much all western countries causes all manner of problems.
