bout time, related to harts mystery "leave of absence" no doubt
I mean we will see what happens. It’s a delicate thing to discuss until the police confirm the names of those involved.

I want to see how the league handles it bc if the speculation and rumors are true, all eyes will be on them.

I wonder what the odds are they strip Canada of that medal...obviously not every player was involved (or proven to be), but Hockey Canada surely tried to sweep this under the wrong, so I'm not sure the precedent on this

THAT'LL SHOW EM!

Gotta be honest - I'm trying to be more sensitive. I grew up in a time when we used names and nasty characterizations really irresponsibly and callously. It's clear that in many cases that sort of "guys being guys" behavior had a real negative impact on a lot of people. I think as a whole I'm much better.

I'm also particularly aware that the stresses of life and impact on mental health are way worse than when I was a kid and WHOLEHEARTEDLY support people getting any and all help they need. God bless.

However, let's say someone had done something egregiously bad to a young lady - something that is inhuman and indefensible, something that goes way way beyond the pale of calling someone a derogatory name. Then let's say that the police were finally, after an excessively long time, going to make arrests of whoever was involved in the potential serious law breaking related to that young lady??

If, emphasis on if, that person then used the excuse of needing time to deal with his or her "mental health" as a strategy for dealing with an impending arrest and being publicly held accountable for those disgusting actions??? Well, I've got to revert to my old poor behavior and say if that was the case, then that person is a massive f***ing p***y.

If not, and that person has nothing to do with the assault on a young lady, then my thoughts on this are irrelevant and I go back to wanting nothing but the best for this person.

My nose is to the air, though. Something smells distasteful.

We see things similar, you and I.

Interesting article, thanks. Size is not quite everything for a modern goalie, but it certainly counts for a lot. That plus the equipment and the butterfly have certainly changed the nature of the position and brought to the fore positional excellence over sheer athleticism and reflexes.

I'd be in favor of reducing the size of some of the kit. Need to maintain safety, but the pads and blocker, possibly even the glove, could all be smaller while still being protective. The chest and shoulder guards that some of the guys wear - like Vasilevskiy - also appear to be unnecessarily big, so you could perhaps regulate that more tightly. I think if you changed the gear in this way it would force goalies to revert to having to be a bit more dynamic and increase their movement, and bring back a little more individual style. My guess is the league has zero appetite for such a change, but it could be nice.

My cousins son is a goalie playing junior hockey in Maine. He’s very good and even got an invite to USA development camp when he was 16.

He‘s now 20 and is “only” 6‘0 tall and according to my cousin doesn’t have much of a chance to play D1 college because they’re really only looking for the kids who are. 6’2 or taller.
