I’m surprised Ottawa can’t make a good step forward. They have some good players there
They and Buffalo both have surprised me with how disappointing they’ve been.

Before the season both teams rosters seemed loaded and both of them looked like young clubs on the verge of something last season. Yet they’ve not only continued to suck (while Washington and Philly have unexpectedly jumped in front of them) but have actually taken steps backwards.

if there was a normal cadence of metro teams not all on point streaks, i'd be okay...................... but everyone ahead of us, and behind us are collecting points. Metro went from weak to very strong and we're not at the tip of the spear of this.

Washington isn't supposed to be this good, and neither are the Flyers and TBH the Isles are also in the same boat. And Washington is doing well enough, DESPITE Ovechkin being a pumpkin so far this year. But as always, strange things happen a lot in the NHL.

CAROLINA
Carolina just had a four regulation loss streak, which is something they haven’t had since 2019-20, so we actually got a very helpful gift from the hockey gods there.

They weren’t going to lose every game and they did have the decency to beat the Wings in regulation.

WASHINGTON
They had a ridiculous start (lol that goal differential), which includes our pathetic home losses to these douche canoes:
IMG_0869.jpeg

But since then the Caps have done worse.
IMG_0868.jpeg

The only really frustrating win is vs the Kings, who are completely useless and can f*** right off obviously.

Philly
The Flyers on the other hand had a more underwhelming start:
IMG_0870.jpeg

and have gotten more annoying as the season has worn on.

Look at some of this bullshit:
IMG_0871.jpeg

I blame tonight’s 3 point game on them because they can’t stop having them against Metro teams.

It must be nice to have beaten the Blue Jackets at home and the Avs in Colorado. Also, again f*** LA.

NY Islanders
These MFers looked awful at the start of the season:
IMG_0872.jpeg

Then it’s a mixture of easier wins (again, must be nice to win @ home vs Columbus) and dumb luck.
IMG_0873.jpeg

Florida and Toronto, useless garbage.

And, again, I cannot stress enough how the Los Angeles Kings need to go f*** themselves. Frauds.

Pittsburgh
The Pens, as always, are weird. Some strong underlying numbers and solid goaltending. The unluckiest PP of all time and a general inability to win games.

Their start:
IMG_0874.jpeg

The soft as butter section of their schedule where they actually managed to pick up points:
IMG_0875.jpeg

(I once more beseech the Kings to, at their earliest convenience, go f*** themselves.)

After that it was mostly back to Loserville for the Pens:
IMG_0876.jpeg

It would have been nice if they lost yesterday but they did need a 27 round shoot out to beat the Habs.

NY Rags
They’ve been on a massive tear for most of the season, they didn’t have two losses in a row before December started.

Before any losing streak:
IMG_0877.jpeg

After they discovered adversity a week ago:
IMG_0878.jpeg
I might not have mentioned this before but the Los Angeles Kings really need to go f*** themselves.

I maintain that the Kings are frauds and ill be annoyed if we drop games to them when the rest of Metro keeps beating them.

Watching the standings at this point of the season.... Come on, man.

The only thing that matters is getting the next 2 points.

IMO, scoreboard watching should be happening in the latter half of the 2nd half of the season; not early in the First half.

I mean...I still watch the other games and laugh at certain teams losing but regardless, I feel that now is not the time to be looking at playoff-seeding.

Of course LOSER Todd can’t beat any of those Metro teams.

He’s the same guy who tried to blame a Sharks matinee game loss out East on it being like a 10:00 AM game their time, despite the fact that it was already several games into their road trip/the Eastern time zone.

I think the game was either at MSG or Boston, but it may have even been against us in that crazy 6-5 (or something like that) win over them in 2008-2009.

43 year old Claude Lemieux played for the Sharks that day.

This is really a shit look for some Blues fans. For those who don't know the whole story, Kyrou was asked earlier in the day to speak about recently fired Craig Berube to which he said, "I don't have a comment, he's not my coach anymore." Not a great response by any means, but not really the parting shot that it was taken to be.

Fans proceeded to boo him when announced in the starting lineup, and even when he touched the puck at certain points. He's a 25 year old kid who is underperforming on a long-term contract. The game is hard enough as it is. I get fans are allowed to do what they want and they didn't want to see the only head coach to bring them a Cup in their history go, but this is where I personally don't reach the level of booing my team or anyone on the team specifically. Just not my nature. These guys are human, and you can see what effect it had on him for his own fans to treat him like an opposing player for an entire game.

I was following this yesterday and basically felt the same way as you. The fire Lindy chanters or people who threw things on the ice irked me for the same reasons that this does.

I can’t believe fans are that butthurt over a player saying “no comment, he’s not my coach anymore” about a fired head coach.

Berube sounds like he’s about as overrated there as Jordan Binnington is.

Although, I’ve never encountered militant Berube Blues fans on this forum. I also haven’t read their threads since he’s been fired. Not on the mainboard, nor on the Blues forum.

Not even remotely the same thing…it’s a case of consider the messenger. Like I said in the other thread when you’re being looked at as an underachieving twat you might not want to be dismissive of a coach the fans will likely always have respect for after winning the one Cup in 50+ years of franchise history.

Agree to disagree. Not sure why you are calling him names because he didn’t want to discuss a topic.

I read their board a little, dude wasn’t exactly Mr. Popular over there even before this. Imagine the way some people feel about Timo here being more universal, then imagine him being seemingly dismissive on say, Fitz somehow losing his job. We’d probably boo too and we’re surprisingly patient when it comes to booing players.

I admittedly havent kept up with how Uber hfboards fans feel about Blues players. So I’m really just looking at the situation through observing this one incident and what he said. I see nothing wrong with it. The fans turned that mole hill (more like spec of dirt) into a mountain for that one game and hopefully they drop it after seeing his post game interview.

Just the fact it’s St. Louis fans booing is enough of an indicator, this is just as wildly out of character for their fanbase as Philly fans backing a slumping Trea Turner was for them.

To be fair I think the quote itself was pretty innocuous, but given the timing, it was a more than convenient excuse for the fans to lash out at someone already in the doghouse.

I chanted both "fire Lindy" and "Sorry Lindy" Might have even started the Sorry Lindy chant at least from my section that night. Just expressing my feelings and emotions but, never intend to make things personal against a coach or athlete unless there is a clear reason to make it personal. Which usually is not the case.

Kyrou is shooting 5.5% also, way below his career %. He has 90 shots on goal, is he dogging it in some other way or is the puck just not going in? Seems insane to me personally.

My guess is enough blues fans are embarrassed by this they cheer for him next game to try and make up for it.

On the one hand, you are correct.

But on the other hand, does winning one cup four years ago followed by a whole lot of NOTHING since guarantee a lifetime of Mulligans by fans?

I'm surprised there are Blues fans that are White-Knight'ing Berube there.

What up with Sam Rosen's hair? He's obviously adding color but, why keep the receding frontal baldness? Kinda odd I say.
