I'm not even sad this just pissed me off

Another write off season where we make excuses for why we are terrible. Another season of zero development from our "core players". Another season of boring ass games. Another season of trash medical staff.

I can't with this BS. Feel bad for Dach but this loss is on management for trading for an always injured player and refusing to deal him in a trade for PLD.

Next up....a medical team to analyse a player's possibility to easily be injured. For the draft. And for trades.

Maybe we don't always need to look for someone to blame. Shit happens sometimes.

Happened to Serge Savard. And to Rocket, btw. People were saying he was too fragile to play after a couple of seasons of major injuries.

Although, it could be like Benoit Brunet, who was cursed.

I prefer believing in the first examples, though.
Even the rocket got that injury prone tag...

Hopefully Dach recovers well and doesn't lose any of his excellent skating ability.

Oh he most probably will. Now this will exacerbate the situation of our D's and Forwards' progression not being in sync. Our D will be super expensive before our FWD core is anywhere near playoff quality.

Whatevs, knowing our luck Dubois would've gotten injured in the 2nd game instead. We may just be on the cusp of a failed rebuild, like most of the other ones.

Huh? Next year is when we will likely be experiencing the rookie years of Hutson, Reinbacher and Mailloux. Dach will be back for next year.

It sucks for this year, but it doesn’t alter anything going forward.

but despite that has shown significant improvement. I don't think he's going to have a problem coming back in terms of IQ and execution. It's all a question of his body
Agree completely. Dach's development looked fantastic. Strong, confident, smart as hell, with the moves to back it up. And now this...

Goddammit...

If he had to endure a quota of shit, let it be now, while the team is rebuilding, rather than a couple of years further when we're competitive.
Well ain’t that a kick in the nuts.
That would've been a better diagnosis.

We were on the cusp of a failed rebuild after the 2022 draft. You're always on the cusp of failure if you rely on a "project". What happens if the project fails? You fail.

That is... unless, one expected the Habs to draft top5/top3/top1 multiple times in multiple consecutives drafts. In which case, why did Kent Hughes hold onto injury prone Josh Anderson (client of his firm) and acquire Alex Newhook (client of his firm)? The gamble on Dach had upside but holding onto Anderson didn't have such upside, only downside.

There are tests that determine bone fracture risks over the next 10 years. I don't know of tests that evaluate future injury risks to ligaments and tendons.

Were there any medical red flags with Dach? Did Chicago's staff secretly know something we didn't? I doubt it. At the time of the trade, we got a 100% healthy player who, unfortunately, has now been hurt twice. Different injuries, different causes, and – most frustrating – unpredictable.

It absolutely sucks, but there's a good chance Dach can recover 100%, as other players have. Right now that's all we have.

I'll wait for official word since Eric also pretty much guaranteed PLD was gonna be a Hab lol.
If that is the case then I expect a 5-10 finish, a drop from my initial 10-15 finish guess.
LOL I thought that was Friedman with his 95%. I'd feel better if Friedman came out with this as a 95% probability. :help:

In 2023 with the amazing advances in modern medical care, there isn't a knee brace that players can wear to help alleviate knee injuries? This isn't the Bobby Orr era.

Ghule and Slaf both started the season with knee braces to avoid reinjuring their knees they hurt last season. It's not uncommon after an injury for a player to wear one for a while, but I think they don't like them since I don't think a single one wore one all season long.

True.
Most players can wear the neoprene braces indefinitely with little to no discomfort but they certainly don't like braces that have hardware support.

He's sitting at the bench right now for the morning skate. Hopefully he's not missing more then 3 months

If the report is accurate that he has torn mcl & acl then he is done for the year. As an torn acl is usually 6-9 months depending on the severity.

With the timing of his injury, he should be cleared to train at 100% next off-season.
