Habs lose 4 young players in the matter of days.
How can one franchise be so injury prone?

Man if Guhle is indeed done for 4 to 6 weeks. That is the biggest load of crap ever heaped upon a franchise.

I will be full tank at this point if this is the case.

This is a huge loss. I believe Dach was going to have a breakout season. And that knee will never be the same. I blew out my knee, also the right one in a training accident while with the military. It has never been the same and I am 60 now and it is still stiff in the mornings. (my knee, lol).

I feel for this kid and knowing the torture he is about to go through in rehab. Blowing out both the ACL and the MCL is very rare.

This injury will follow him for the rest of his career and in life.

Saw the clip this morning and it seems to be a stick to the hand-wrist indeed.

OMG it's funny now, Dach Reinbacher and Heineman in less than 24 hour? This team is the laughing stock of the NHL.

Pull the plug on this season.
No one is laughing because if injuries. Don't let injuries get in your head.

Just a FYI

The previous training staff wasn't fired because of the initial injuries.. it was their handling of those injuries, allowing players to continue playing hurt, and taking small absences and extending them into longer absences.

No training staff in the world can prevent all injuries.. we just have to hope that the new training staff ensures that Guhle doesn't come back early and then end up back on IR because the initial injury didn't heal.

Not suprised with Guhle. The guy didn’t take any muscle mass since his draft year. He needs to understand that he needs to bulk.

Luckily, surgical techniques have advanced a lot since you and I were young. Today's players can recover completely from this. Let's hope Dach takes the time and comes back as strong as ever (and maybe a bit smarter). If the kid figures out his own body, he could be our top-C by the time the Habs are competitive.

Excellent point. Trainers can't prevent broken bones or infections. But there are regimens to strengthen soft tissue like tendons and ligaments. Anyone who's pulled/torn/strained something knows the necessity of stretching, icing, and resting. It allows injured tissue to heal and helps prevent future injuries.

Do the Habs' trainers prioritize prevention as much as they should? You'd hope so, but maybe they have to drill the younger guys on its importance. Prevention is passive and boring. It doesn't make you bigger or faster. Kids in their early 20s would rather be building muscle than watching the clock as they stretch. But that may be what a kid like Dach needs to add to his regimen to prevent next year's injury.
