I thought it was going to be worse than this. A 10-12 weeks absence would have him back by mid-February which is a long injury sure but I feared something Dache-esque
High ankle sprain is a tricky injury. Especially for someone who's main skill is their speed.

It's one thing to witness a rebuild but it's a real downer when the rebuild pieces are injured longterm.
I prefer Glass half full: players who are not engaged in the game don’t get injured, this is a testament to being involved …

That exactly my point though. They were fired as scapegoats for our injury record, but we're still getting injured
Many of last year injuries were caused by over/under off-ice training injuries getting aggravated by playing (like Caufield's shoulder) or clearing a guy to play when he wasn't healed like Monahan and Gallagher were. Or bad diagnostic (whatever Dach got that turn being sick to a LBI). They were not just scapegoats.

Many of this year injuries are actually caused by younger players having no idea how to protect themselves on the ice anymore (something Tortella complained about very recently) along the team getting hemmed in their own zone for way too long.

WOW....again. I just don't get all these injuries to key players.
:banghead:

I'm REALLY starting to believe the old Montreal Forum ghost are vindictive:madfire:

Ugh. Not that he was a total world-breaker to begin with, but Chris Higgins was never the same player after his high ankle sprain... 😭

Our players are cursed with bad luck or they aren't good at taking care of themselves on the ice. It's one or the other or a bit of both.
I am pi$$ed off and shocked.................Dach, this season, now Newhook..........obviously others too, we just can't catch a break, except a high ankle sprain kind of break.

When does the blaming of the new medical staff begin? Since nothing changed from last year despite an entire new staff? No really...blaming people not on the ice and luck is moronic. When you have 200 lb guys flying around at 30 mph and crashing into each other and nets/boards then sometimes anatomical components will be damaged. This can all be prevented by benching players for entire games or wrapping them in bubble wrap!
