He's a Spurs fan which is why it focuses on them, but it's far from an issue where they're the only victims (or don't do it themselves).

Basically half or 2/3 of corners are just trying to create absolute chaos and foul people *just* enough to get away with it to create a chance.

Spurs conceded against both City and Everton as of late due to players disrupting Vicario. Supposedly they had a chat with the PGMOL about it afterward. But I agree that they are far from the only team suffering from this.

Even if they were never called fouls, I think some of the examples above should be egregious enough for VAR to step in and deny a goal if it happened.

The Arsenal goal just now was this. Ben White's entire job on the corner was to cut off the keeper and block him from getting to the ball. There's zero doubt that teams practice doing this in a way that's unlikely to get called for a foul.

If you blocked a player off like that in midfield, or if you did it when a player is trying to close down someone lining up for a shot you'd be called for a foul 99% of the time. But if you do it on a corner (especially in the PL), you're called maybe 1% of the time.

As a goalkeeper, I don't think anything I saw in that video should be considered a foul.

Think it’s hilarious that Tottenham decided to have a chat with PGMOL about it considering their public stances of ref errors earlier this season. Fat Ange is another hypocrite like Kompany. Changed there tune as soon as it effected them negatively

“MATE We used to understand errors were part of the game, including officiating errors, and you’d have to cop it MATE. Some people copped it better than others, but that was part of the game MATE.

“MATE The game is littered with historical refereeing decisions that weren’t right MATE, but we all accepted that was part of the game because we’re only human beings MATE.”

Here's the article with his comments:

I don't think his comments are as bad as it seems. He even addressed how he usually has sympathy for referees, but wanted clarification in this specific situation. Believes that standards for what you can do to keepers has changed.

As to why you are seemingly writing like a child right now, I have no clue.

Oh god. You guys are drinking so much kool aid. It’s not out of context. You can’t act holier than thou about the refs and then do a PGMOL complaint because things aren’t going your way. It is so fake.

I understand this is the first time in years you aren’t managed by a grumpy gargoyle. But this really isn’t that special. i get it. The media loves Ange and thinks everything he says is better than sliced bread. It’s great you guys are probably having fun for the first time in years. But there is nothing out of context here. He’s a hypocrite.

Please. You guys are human shielding your hypocrite manager and crying because I called him out on it. I think its childish to fall head over heels for this Mate schtick.

Dude was like eighth choice on your list to get hired in the first place and has won nothing. Media thinks he is cute because he tells them what he wants to hear, says Mate a lot and is self deprecating just like the entire Tottenham culture is.

Relax

I think we have a different definition of that word. You are literally trying to “well, actually” clear as day quotes rather than admit he’s a hypocrite. Stop. There are no lies in anything that you’ve quoted here
