Per Craig Morgan's latest update on prospects.... Artyom Duda was denied his third and final appeal to play at the University of Maine.

Word is they're trying to figure out where they can get him playing but he is not going back to Russia.

Guessing 14 KHL games were too much. Willander played two SHL games and was cleared for reference. Should have been playing for Youngstown long ago.

at this point i hope they focus on getting him used to the NA size rink. He needs games and minutes. This screams Youngstown to me.
(didn't know what that meant, but while trying to figure it out, I found out something interesting, to me...the USHL Youngstown Phantoms last year (2022-23) had a goalie whose hometown is listed as Melbourne, FL... and that is the first time i've ever heard of anyone from Brevard County, FL - where i grew up - achieving that high of a level in hockey...and he was drafted by Montreal last year 3rd round)

Jacob Fowler isn’t just your average 3rd round goalie either. Kid has legit NHL starters potential. Kid is putting together a very impressive season at BC. Now if he could just get in shape…

Perhaps he's the first to reach that level from your hometown because he never had his confidence shattered by going up against the dreaded "Dirty Young Man" who lit up the scoreboard back in the day and made it impossible for any goalie to look good and get a scouts attention?

Just sayin'

Hehe, anyone would have had to have played tennis to go up against Dirty Young Man in Brevard County. I didn't take up ice hockey until I was 35 .

(that came up the other night and is my favorite beer league story, because one of the two guys involved returned after an absence - when I moved here in the 90s, in August, I knew no one and had nothing going on, so I went to a pro roller hockey game, the Cobras, at the Veterans Coliseum... probably the 5th pro hockey game, ice or roller, i'd seen in my life at age 29...little did I know that the top two scorers on that team would someday - over 25 years later - be my teammates, in ice hockey... they are Dirty Old Men as well - actually we're called DOOM now, for Dirty Old(er) Old Men:

Very cool....I know I went to at least one Cobras game. Zero memories of any of the players. Looking at the link you provided, the big name that stands out is former Phoenix Roadrunner Sean Whyte. The other names I recognize are Ralph Barahona and Daniel Shank.

I have picked Sean Whyte's pocket once, at Oceanside. We were on a PK, he had the puck in his own zone on the boards with his back to me, not really paying attention. I snuck in, stole the puck and he says something like "you little mother f----!" and I kinda went "eek!" and dumped the puck in backhanded behind their net. Even in a non check league, he's pretty intimidating when you're out there against him.

And Ralph was the guy who showed up Tuesday. He's kinda like The Dude, but hockey. From SoCal and everything.

BA gushed over Daniil But in the new phxnx podcast. Apparently he’s 6’9 now. Lots of good stuff in there. Not much prospect related but enjoyed the whole interview. BA size fetish confirmed again.

He's a winger, right? Can't think of any 6'9" wingers to play in the nhl.

That RW prospect quality and depth is insane.
The left side is less impressive but our roster is quite full of core LWs anyways.

Isn't Bu a right shooting LW?

He’s the same size as former NHL greats Chara and John Scott. That’s crazy to even think about. TnT gets name dropped as a comparison but I think he reminds me a lot of prime Getzlaf. His playmaking skill set is just so underrated and plays with the same controlled edge. Just much more willing to attack the net with his shot. As is the trend with the game these days.

Keep a close eye on Germany’s Julian Lutz. The Arizona Coyotes prospect has played some tremendous hockey with the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers, entering the tournament with 11 points in his pats 10 games. He’s been great at nearly every touranment with Germany, but this year he’ll be counted on more than ever to keep the team in the top division. I know many are quite high on Lutz.
