Seems like O'Rielly has taken advantage of Cowan being out and has insane chemistry with Barkey.

Cowan pushed past Mario Lemieux’s 41-year-old Canadian Hockey League record really early in the opening period. Though the milestone remains unofficial since it has occurred over two seasons, the Maple Leafs first-rounder’s streak still deserves to be highlighted as one of the great achievements in junior hockey history.
Cowan's record, which dates back to last November, is unofficial because it spans two seasons but matches the CHL's all-time record set by Lemieux with the Laval Voisins in 1983-84. Cowan has 42 goals and 103 points in his streak. Lemieux posted a mind-boggling 133 goals and 282 points during his.
P/PGThat would be good for the Knights, if O'Reilly makes the team stronger.
He's over a PPG now.

Yup, but there has been no drop off in quality of play. Besides, he has only played 2 games where he hasn't scored.Cowan’s had quite the drop off in production year over year
Cowan’s had quite the drop off in production year over year
“He’s trying to build a more professional-style game,” said Rob Simpson, Knights associate general manager.
With that has come a change that might alarm some Leafs fans: Cowan’s production is way down. His remarkable OHL MVP season in 2023-24 saw him put up 96 points in 54 games. This season, as his (again, remarkable) 65-game point streak came to an end, he’s potted 45 points in 36 games. Does this represent a levelling off in his development? It’s actually the opposite: Cowan is looking more and more like a player preparing himself for the pro game.

How about trade Cowan for Ryan O'RiellySeems like O'Rielly has taken advantage of Cowan being out and has insane chemistry with Barkey.
The chances of the Leafs next 1st being on the same prospect level as Cowan are very slim. This is an off year in some areas but he was all world last season and there are areas of his game that seem to have grown even when the numbers haven't. Playoffs are a reset and this summer is another. I think you can get your #3c with the 1st plus and that + won't need to be Minten or Cowen unless they are emptying the piggy bank for a younger guy with some term. How about trade Cowan for Ryan O'Rielly
Lemieux might be the most physically skilled player in the history of the sport and he did it with defensemen water skiing on his back half the time. In today's NHL with today's equipment, today's rules and today's training regimen? Forget it. He'd absolutely obliterate them.![]()

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan has (unofficially) tied a record set by one of hockey's greatest legends.www.sportsnet.ca
133 goals in 62 games?
Good time to put on a show!
I was speaking of Cowboy.. that's pretty big timing, as the hockey world's eyes are checkin' in..Yes and no. Cowan looked fantastic, but Danford had by far his worst game of the year.

What a strange flex?Yes, Cowan had a fantastic game. Our seats are behind the visitors bench and we were on him all night about his fake point streak record and asking where his gold medal was. To his credit, Cowan just ignored it and never looked up in the stands once.

You are bragging about trash talking a teenaged boy.
I’d say more - but don’t want an admin vacay during trade deadline week.
Seems Cowan is the better and more mature person...Yes, Cowan had a fantastic game. Trash talking from fans and players alike is an ingrained part of all sports. If you can get in the head of your opponent because he’s emotionally weak and mentally fragile, that’s a huge advantage to exploit.
This is the OHL - - not minor peewee hockey. Cowan could very well be playing professionally right now. If he was in the NHL, would he be exempt from any trash talking from fans or opponents because he’s “a teenage boy”?
People are considered to be adults when they turn 18yrs of age, and in a few months Cowan is going to be TWENTY (20) years old. Anyone needs to be sheltered from trash talk at that age has no hope of playing professionally.
