A lot of the talk I've seen from scouts and analysts is that Cowan is playing more of a professional game and as a result his offensive numbers have dipped.

With that has come a change that might alarm some Leafs fans: Cowan’s production is way down. His remarkable OHL MVP season in 2023-24 saw him put up 96 points in 54 games. The chances of the Leafs next 1st being on the same prospect level as Cowan are very slim. This is an off year in some areas but he was all world last season and there are areas of his game that seem to have grown even when the numbers haven't. Playoffs are a reset and this summer is another. I think you can get your #3c with the 1st plus and that + won't need to be Minten or Cowen unless they are emptying the piggy bank for a younger guy with some term.

Trash talking from fans and players alike is an ingrained part of all sports. If you can get in the head of your opponent because he’s emotionally weak and mentally fragile, that’s a huge advantage to exploit.

This is the OHL - - not minor peewee hockey. Cowan could very well be playing professionally right now. If he was in the NHL, would he be exempt from any trash talking from fans or opponents because he’s “a teenage boy”?

People are considered to be adults when they turn 18yrs of age, and in a few months Cowan is going to be TWENTY (20) years old. Anyone needs to be sheltered from trash talk at that age has no hope of playing professionally.
