A lot of the talk I've seen from scouts and analysts is that Cowan is playing more of a professional game and as a result his offensive numbers have dipped.

“He’s trying to build a more professional-style game,” said Rob Simpson, Knights associate general manager.

With that has come a change that might alarm some Leafs fans: Cowan’s production is way down. His remarkable OHL MVP season in 2023-24 saw him put up 96 points in 54 games. This season, as his (again, remarkable) 65-game point streak came to an end, he’s potted 45 points in 36 games. Does this represent a levelling off in his development?
